Nashoba's Key was a filly I never appreciated. Perhaps I am wrong, I never thought she was all that special if special at all.

On the surface the final time was good/ordinary but the track went from muddy to good later in the day, I think this is a case when you have to use your common sense to evaluate if a performance was good or wasn't.

I agree the race was very very impressive even if she beat vermin. Don't know the BSF but I would have to imagine its between a 104 and 108?

The rest of the Alabama field should be sent to barrier trials for eternity.

King Glorious 08-23-2009 07:33 PM

She ran her final quarter in about 25 4/5 and still drew off. None of the other runners ran under 27 for the last quarter. It was a good race, slightly above average, that was made to look much better than it was because of the level of competition.

Does this number seem right to you?

CSC 08-25-2009 07:45 AM

It ended up being a 106, paired up with 103 from Delaware, she looks like the real deal.

cmorioles 08-25-2009 07:09 PM

She also went pretty darn quick early for that distance at Saratoga. She is the real deal.

What do you make of the last few furlongs?

The Indomitable DrugS 08-25-2009 08:42 PM

She's just lucky a real star like Pine Island wasn't in there to grind her down.

Pine Island would have thrived on Poly.. BTW Fat Burger she was an ugly a mover as any.. She moved like a 1400 back loader.. Yet she ran down most..

The Indomitable DrugS 08-25-2009 09:14 PM

by most ... I assume you mean Teammate.

I don't know if Pine Island's footwork was good enough to make her a top poly horse ... but if she had a well slept Alan Gracia riding her .. anything is possible.

I don't consider small parts of a race as having any meaning if they aren't viewed in context with the rest of the race.
