This is a home run for the eagles. You have a back up quarterback that could start for a number of teams in the league. Not only that, unlike most backups, he won't just hold a clipboard. You can actually devise ways to use him in specialty situations and not just the wildcat. Remember the way the steelers used kordell? Vick throws and runs better than kordell and I remember slash being highly effective.

For 1.6 million and an option at 5.2 million? There will be a number of teams that will be sorry they didnt take the chance.

This just pretty much says that Kolb doesn't look like he is ready yet, and of course injury doesn't help. Trust in Feeley is very low.

Its just a one year deal, unless something majorly bad happens to McNabb. No way the Eagles will pay Vick's Option in any other case.

I think its more Andy Reid championing for Vick, and handling him in the same matter of him handling his family when the boys were in trouble.

Well, this is interesting.

Guy's clearly a great athlete.

Will likely make some big-time contributions to the offense

That said, it's time for Reid-McNabb to seal the deal.

Real Birds fans are running out of patience, Mr. Lurie...

i was wondering who they are going to cut on the roster to keep vick.. my dad thinks Feeley... doubt they will keep 4 qb's

Any great child molester QB's out there still unsigned? As long as the pedophile is a good athlete, hell, sign him up and it's a home run for the team. Apparently no one in the franchise has a problem hanging out with scum for the better part of the year, be it a dog torturer or a child rapist. No moral compass on the Eagles, I guess:confused:

King Glorious 08-14-2009 01:05 PM

I'm now an Eagles fan. Big time.

Mike 08-14-2009 01:07 PM

I know, I know! He was only torturing, strangling, drowning, electrocuting dogs;)

Who cares about dogs? Heck, Vick's apologized a couple of times now

Maybe the Eagle shave something similar to hazing in their locker room. Sure would be fun to watch a few lineman torture Vick in the locker room, maybe drown him in a filthy toilet. Might as well sodomize him while they're at it.

Can always apologize later:D

Gotta love feigned outrage.

While realizing that there are millions out there that do, I don't. May put me in the minority but it just never was that big a deal to me. The part that was the biggest deal to me was that whether or not I think it's bad, it's against the law. I think you have to abide by the laws even though you may not agreee with them. But as for the crime itself, it didn't bother me.

Local company hires felon after serving 2 years in prison for dog fighting.

Letter sent says,
"How dare you hire a felon that was imprisoned for cruelty to dogs. You just lost one customer from using your products ever again."

Company replies, "We're sorry you feel this way. With regards of using are plastics product, we hope that you won't suffer from starvation, since are plastics are used for food that you consume."

I think its a good thing the Beagles took Vick... Just think when they get ready to come out of the Tunnel (the music blasts)...""Who let the Dogs out "" !!!!!

Btw..the frontpage headline in the Philly Daily news..was something like
""hey philly, hide your dogs ""

Maybe I am. Or maybe, to me, they are just dogs. What bothered me was the stupidity on his part.

Guess McNabb should start looking over his shoulder. Fourth, Vick was dome quarterback in NFC South. Nine indoor games every year made him look better than he was. Last, can I get a copy of this to wrap my fish in?

hi_im_god 08-14-2009 08:04 PM

does anyone know if the $1.6 million figure is for 16 games or 10 if the suspension goes that long?

i assume that's a salary for the full year in which case the iggles might actually only pay $1 million for the games he's available.

i'm no expert on nfl contracts but i'm pretty sure suspensions mean no payment for games missed. anyone know?

deltagulf 08-14-2009 08:28 PM

for that price it is good to take change. to see what he can offer the team. just another t.o for philly.

T.O. was a locker room dividing headcase. Vick is not. He's just a OG, triple OG. EVERYONE will rally around him. I still feel that the TO/Donovan incident is what made the Eagles grow apart from Lito Sheppard. He (lito) hated how they dealt with his boy Terrell, and im sure he voiced his displeasure. The organization then showed him that they could succeed without him and put him in the doghouse by playing Hansen more.

This won't be the case with Vick. He'll be used in different looks and be greeted with open arms here. i'm guessing he toe's the company line as he knows the Eagles won't tolerate another unfortunate setback.

was always my understanding that suspension meant no pay, like with stallworth.

micheal vick had plenty of issues before the dogfighting came to light. maybe he's learned after the last few years, or maybe ron mexico will be in the press again?
