I'm not a big fan of horses that race in SoCal,but Zenyatta was IMPRESSIVE! Rachael Alexandra should be scared, because this horse will bring it to her good.

Why does a horse's geographical location determine whether or not you're a fan of them?

Chop about four seconds off that.

cakewalk for zenyatta today. ten for ten....maybe they can keep her in training, and in the winners circle, so she can take the consecutive wins record down from pepper's pride.

Actually about 5. Typo on my part- thanks for the catch.

Because most, not all, usually do well there, then go out of state and do nothing.

That is just a ridiculous statement and completely inaccurate, but it does show how biased your opinion is.

Indian Charlie 05-24-2009 12:06 PM

That's pretty comical.

If anything, the trend is that horses stabled in Ky don't do well when shipping to a major circuit for a race.

Zensational is out. They have another spot for him to run somewhere? Canonize has a great way of moving. Should win easily, but a lot of things should happen, and don't. I actually think the Carbonite horse can get a piece.

that scratch changes the race...canonize should win easily, why? He is your typical Ellis type of horse, I am against him but the scratch probably killed any value.

Well, I hate the way Bet on Victor moves. That short choppy stride stuff is good for 2nds, but I like the way Canonize moves. Backback got beat here going 7f against that Jack o Lantern horse. Ran well on turf the other day. I don't trust him. I can see a case for him though.

SCUDSBROTHER 05-24-2009 04:41 PM

Don't like the 2 post for Canonize. That's a negative for me. Would rather have Gomez or Talamo up. Don't like the fact he paid a ton to win his maiden race. I somewhat agree about the trainer. He's not really a Grade 1 or 2 type guy. If there's a weak one, then sometimes he wins them. He's more of an allowance or grade 3 guy(this is a Grade 3.). I think he's actually a really good trainer. I just don't think he cheats. I wouldn't put a ton to win on it at low odds. Has some negatives. I like a price horse the race before, or I wouldn't even care about the Barrera Stakes.

Ventura will be a scratch.

I don't think he switched leads down the stretch.

Yea, you're right about Ellis. Not good in stakes right now. Horse looked like ****. Uncomfortable, and stride nowhere near what it was in the first two races. The 10 ran his race. He's just a choppy striding hard tryer. So, he is gunna get a lot of suck up 2nd places. Backback seems to dislike the cushion. So, the winner got an easy lead. No excuse for the Ellis horse. I don't think it's the elevation in class either. Just think Ellis is a play against in stakes right now(fireplace.) There are some horses at HWD right now that can't come close to repeating their last races at the same track. The favorite in the 6th and the 8th are 2 examples. Both good trainers, and both horrible efforts.
