There was an interview in the Saratoga Special last year, I think, where he was quoted as saying that he didn't care about his popularity in the jock's room and he will take his risks with the rules and if he gets suspended, that's ok. So the stewards may have also been influenced by more than the teflon jock that Gomez tends to be.

Seriously, after watching that replay, that was nothing at all. I'm having a hard time understanding why some are getting so worked up about it (even if those three horses had come in 1-2-3). Nobody went off stride, or was impeded. That was barely a blip on the "bump in the homestretch scale", especially compared to what the winner went through at the start.
