I was definitely on Barbaro. I can't remember who my pick was for the Oaks, but I know it sure was not Lemons Forever!

barbaro--keyed him over sweetnorthernsaint, jazil, bro derek, and steppenwolfer. had I not ignored Pletcher I would have made a nice profit.

Okay, let's take it a step further..... for those of you who played the futures, who did you pick?

Balletto 08-07-2006 09:51 AM

Corinthian and Barbican. Both side-lined before the Classics. Typical.

paisjpq 08-07-2006 09:52 AM

I had corinthian too...

And I now love you... any word on him? He was an impressive looking animal.

Man, I wish finding the way to a woman's heart was always as easy as naming her preferred Kentucky Derby future horse.

Balletto 08-07-2006 10:03 AM

well every b*tch has a price. :D

slotdirt 08-07-2006 10:05 AM

Maybe finding a girl who actually has knowledge of a horse as obscure as Barbican is probably a gift in and of itself anyway.

Balletto 08-07-2006 10:11 AM

Dont get too excited, sport! Im just a pedigree nerd and he happens to own one of the best out there. His tail-female is the most underrated Canadian family around and gotta love Indy over Mr. P. Now, you guys can school me on the real handicapping. Im about as fortunate as a one legged hooker when it comes to that.

slotdirt 08-07-2006 10:14 AM

Sport....heh.

Balletto 08-07-2006 10:16 AM

do you prefer princess? :p

GPK 08-07-2006 10:16 AM

I bet no futures this year....I learned my lesson last year with Rockport Harbor.

That's a negative, ghost rider. I just figured boss or champ couldn't be far behind.

I had never done it before so, in a moment of sheer brilliance, played Flashy Bull and Private Vow. :D

There actually were two others but alas..... they didn't make it to the Derby.

I'm with you on this count...threw a few futures at Sun King and the filly last year, got burned. Much better betting on the real thing, and there's still plenty of value.
