Whoa! Hold everything. Do these shirts actually exist? In how many colors?

I'm not kidding.

I realize that some of the idiots (all on my IGGY LIST) got in there and just had to offer their $.02 worth but did we really need to close the thread? Maybe we should start censoring at the general level (in addition to the individual) rather than shutting the door on something interesting.

Especially in a forum where TROUBLED TRIPS are the trip handicapping of choice for the novices. For example, and not to single him out, CSC has yet to point to a trip horse that didn't have trouble (and in most cases, a perfect trip otherwise).

Let those with a little bit of knowledge discuss the topic. Perhaps there are some others who might actually learn something.

What a ****in joke!!! Is this a forum about HANDICAPPING or just devoted to jockey and/or horse adoration?

It's a forum for bit.ching, thumping chest, delusions of grandeur, and adoration of Lance Armstrong's cancerous testicle.

I've already had this discussion with Fatman amd in particular regarding the BC Mile, where he thought Goldikova got a dream trip and Whatsthescript didn't. My point was one of many of Goldikova's assets is that she has the tactible speed to be placed wherever the jockey wants her to be given the dynamics of a race, something that Whatsthescript doesn't have the luxury of. I am willing to chalk up Goldikova's favorable trip had more to do with her than her being lucky, still she was closer to a hot pace than perhaps was necessary but the Jock probably knew she was good enough to win despite this, by keeping her out of trouble, so Fman you wanted an example of a good horse that puts herself in good spots, here she is.

Germane? You've censored it so much that there is nothing here about "Andy versus Scuds." There was zero wrong with the full 1st page of that thread. The Andy Bias is fully exposed(again.)

Believe it or not, some of us bet on these races, and that's the perspective we use when looking at races. Chasing perfect trip winners, at low odds, is a way to lose. Assuming horses that have gotten perfect trips in the past will get them in the future is another easy route to Brokesville.

One of the best way to brokesville is betting on a game that has a 25% rake on most of the wagers:eek:

but yea your premise evades most people who wager.

What you meant to say is Goldikova got the Kip Deville trip.

No matter how you crack it, she had an unbelievable trip. Whatsthescript was the victim of a much too patient ride and when he wound up and fired he had to go wide and had too much to do.

This race was remarkable not because Goldikova is clearly a special filly, but also because someone finally got a better trip than Kip Deville in a race where he cracked the trifecta.

Can you be honest with yourself when you aren't sure?

What type of trouble has Cosmonaut had other than not being fast enough?

I haven't glanced at his PP's lately, maybe I forgot some trouble lines.

That track was slowed up mightily (to favor Euro late runners.) Whatsthescript failed again over at HWD(against Hyperbaric.) WTSCRPT either soured, or needed his summer steroids(that Sadler had to finally stop giving him in early September.) Maybe he wasn't good enough (regardless,) but on that slowed up turf on B.C. Day, I think the old Whatsthescrpt would of been a lot closer(regardless of that trip.) He lost something in the Autumn. He wasn't as good as he was (for instance) the 1st time he ran for Sadler in June ( loaded with Steroids.) I think Get Funky also lost just a bit of something when steroids were missing.

The Andy Bias would be a good name for a horse

So then if I'm reading u and Andy correctly, Whatsthescript is the horse to bet in the next meeting between the two. Again, while I understand how the odds may only be reflective of who won and who lost and not relative to their actual chances based on good trips for both, it's my contention that Goldikova is likely to continue to get better trips than Whatsthescript because of her tactical speed. Because of the later's running style, I'd be more inclined to believe that the next time they meet, she'd be more likely to get a better trip than him.
