listen this all started off based on last week

louisville was a 9/10 pt favorite over prov

scott said west va s/b an 11 pt fav over provd right now , fine that's his opinion

he is factoring in the miami game , which to some extent is a throwout because we don't know if they were trying or not as hard as possible

now this week

west va is a -9 pt fav over dayton , scott has west va as an 11 pt fav this week over prov if they played this week , so is it safe for me to assume that dayton is really better than providence now?

gales0678 03-20-2009 07:27 AM

now my other example is from last week

louisville -7.5 ove syr

west va -6.5 over syr

based on those 2 lines from last week louisville was a 1 pt fav over west va

but

you are forgetting the o/n line that came out before syracuse played wvu had them as a 1.5/2 pt fav over syracuse

At worst it would be a pickem and I think Dayton would be favored by 1 or 2. Providence went 10-8 in the Big East which is misleading since they had such an easy schedule and got really lucky. They'd be solid underdogs to either Notre Dame or Georgetown and a pickem against Cincinnati and Seton Hall. They are really not a very good team and I wish I knew they were only +9 against Louisville as that was a gift. Dayton only being +9 today is a very nice line as well.

Can't say a lock because they are so damn inconsistent and you know as well as I do that a meaningless three at the buzzer can be the difference between an 11 point win and an 8 point win. What I can say is WV should win by 11 which makes the line of 9 very good value and I'll be playing it.

Huggins coaches some freaking gutless teams.

gales0678 03-20-2009 04:45 PM

big east with the exception of u conn / cuse have looked very avg here

vill won but looked sluggish for 30 minutes

now west va 1 and done and pitt all out against etsu

ateamstupid 03-20-2009 04:54 PM

Clemson looked like ass last night too. Let's see how BC, Wake and FSU look tonight before we go anointing any conferences. The Big XII looks the best out of all of them right now.

gales0678 03-20-2009 04:58 PM

no question , the acc's gets a litmus test tonight , these are all 3 winnable games

i don't understand why bc is a dog joey , they s/b able to beat usc

ateamstupid 03-20-2009 11:24 PM

Update: BC loses by 17 as 2.5-point dogs, Wake loses by 15 as 8-point favorites, FSU loses by 2 as 3-point favorites.

Could be that both conferences are overrated, though I think this is too small of a sample to make any determinations.

Could not happen to a nicer guy.
Team plays like the coach acts.
Completely oblivious to situations.
Intensity without composure = disaster

That Wake game was over by the 10:00 minute mark of the first half for all intents and purposes. As a St. John's and Big East fan, it's certainly a little bittersweet to see an ex-Rutgers coach with a former St. John's castoff as his best player absolutely demoralizing what used to be a pretty decent Wake team.

Wow, a whole thread devoted to West Virginia and Wake Forest. We did a hell of a job of jinxing both of them.

Someone just convince Hasbrouck that the game is on MSG+ tomorrow instead of CBS. Dude is useless when they are on national TV. They should just start Jackson and sit his @ss on the bench.

I think the tourney so far has proved that the Big East is head and shoulders better than any other conference. And that the ACC isnt even as good as the Big 12. The Pac 10 is not very good also. But the ACC is so overrated its not even funny. UNC is the only real good team from there IMO.

horseofcourse 03-23-2009 10:55 AM

Big East is proving themselves this year. I questioned them a bit heading in...but 5 teams in the Sweet 16 speaks for itself. Other than their 2 show ponies (NC and Duke) ACC not good this year. Woeful Big 10 even managed to put their 2 best teams into the sweet 16. SEC was horrendous this year and the tourney bore that out. Big 12 doing well.

Sweet 16 is pretty loaded...I would expect a bunch of great games.
