i agree pat...i hate liars as well. that and lazy or stupid people.

pgardn 08-06-2006 10:53 AM

I would have exchanged cell phone numbers and have done the best I could to be there. If you say you are going to try and do something do it, or at least explain yourself.

SentToStud 08-06-2006 11:05 AM

It's lame not to show or at least apologize for not showing.

The guy is all over the board here with all kinds of big-shot proclamations. Things happen and maybe he couldn't make it, but at least he could have phoned or apologized in an email.

If the guy was with his girlfriend and she didn't want to take the time to meet Oracle and/or didn't want BR to "leave her" then he either needs to get a new woman or, better yet, she needs to get a new man.... one who does a bit better job of meeting obligations and not buckling under the mild pressure of his girl.

If he was there and didn't take 5 minutes to say hello, he's an a ssshole. If he was not there, he's an a sshole for not calling or saying he's sorry for not making it.

I'm sure Oracle will live. It's just bad form.

lol. next week's excuse.... He was up in Lake Forest visiting friends and his girlfriend would not let him miss High Tea and lawn-bowling with her saddle-shoed friends.

I can't wait to hear his "explanation" when he comes back and trips over this thread.

btw, after numerous pm's, this one tipped his hand a long time ago.

My mom (rip) always said, "If you say you're going to do something, do it."

In my view, doing otherwise (not being "stand up) compromises credibility.

And, on a final note...Big Daddy Ray runs in the 9th today (Sunday) at Finger Lakes. 20-1 ml. Maybe, maybe, maybe??????

DTS,
He tipped to me in a pm also. Oracle is just a guy who loves horse racing, makes a wager or two here and there and is passionate about both (the Songster/Albertrani post was classic!). Like any of us who are racing fans, he'd probably get a kick out of shaking hands, having a laugh and watching a race with someone who shares those interests, any differences notwithstanding.

Big Daddy is yours? After a week of non-wagering brought on by a combination of a busy work week and, especially by my passing last Sunday on a horse I'd bet three races straight which paid $58, I shall gloriously return to action with a very modest play on BDR. Seems as good or better a place to start. Good luck!

alysheba4 08-06-2006 11:49 AM

making mention that bold didn't show doesn't suggest to me that oracle lost sleep over it...he cared just enough to post his no show, while you cared just enough to read the thread....doesn't really show any true emotion by anyone here imo.

I was awaiting his 6 ft 180 pound self to talk like he talks here, I would have knocked his block off,

sumitas 08-06-2006 08:13 PM

Big Daddy Ray finished off the board at 53-1...DTS let us know when he's tight for a race so we can hammer him at big odds.

Downthestretch55 08-06-2006 08:19 PM

Ok Sumitas. Will do.

Nostradamus 08-07-2006 04:27 PM

I am not allowed to use Boldruler's name any longer. I think Oracle or somebody complained to him in an e-mail.
