when my mom hurt the second shoulder (first one was because their 100 pound dog bolted after a squirell and she wouldn't let go), she was at work (special ed teacher) she was "restraining" one of the kids (an autistic child that had tantrums etc), because she did everything by the book the school had to pay for everything and she received a large disability check on top of it....she never asked for anything other then her medical bills payed for and never consulted a lawyer....I guess it all depends what kind of company you work for. When she got the disability check she was already back at work (although in a limited capacity since she was not able to physically intervene when needed)....she approached them about giving the money back and was told that it was policy and to just keep it.

I never apologized to your mom for that incident.

I'm trying desperately to avoid surgery for that reason. 9 days later i've got about 15% function back in the directions that were torn through basic physical therapy. Will find out in a week or so whether I need to get surgery or not.
