What race were you watching??? The dead coacroach on the racetrack finished better than him.

For all the knocking on the 3-year-olds of last year (myself included), Cowboy Cal continues to just run hard and win. Regardless of how fast, he's a cool horse and is fun to watch.

He is a very game horse. Seems to kick in gear when he senses other horses next to him.

I'd like to know what race you were watching??? If you are referring to POTN, I think you are way off. He finished very impressively.

POTN came-home in sub-29 seconds. I thought it was extremely strong as they weren't backing-up at SA like they often can.

Monterey Jazz ran off on the front end the way only MJ can do. Pace makes the race. Do not get hung up on time. Street Sense lost the a desperately slow Blue Grass; didn't keep him from winning the Derby.

lol
i went back to re-read last night, because that was my first thought as well, that he was talking about pioneer.
but he was replying to a post about shafted.

How bad a trainer is Frankel, took over Stardom Bound and she regressed 20 Beyer points, think Andy has an article about that ( :

I think the figure was a little light and the track slowed a bit as the day wore on, I think the run by Matto Mondo is throwing that perception off, that was freaky good run only to get a 100 beyer.

It was in reference to Shafted.

i'd have to go with champs elysees here.

Danzig 02-08-2009 06:12 PM

wow!

i believe it was magnum they were just talking about-that he was recently gelded. looks like it worked.

thought well armed was going to steal it.

So on straight figures thats about a beyer of 75-80 on the final time......it will be interesting if Beyer junks the final time and gives it an arbitrary figure because of the pace (not sure they do that though), 114 is just crazy slow.

So now Iavarone is saying that after going over it with Frankel, she's going in the SA Oaks first and then if all goes well, to the SA Derby.

Funny that Evita Argentina is entered tomorrow against the boys in the San Vicente, in part her trainer says, to keep her from having to face Stardom Bound.
