Any Equine TV is good

Criticism comes easier than craftsmanship.

Any and ALL televised horse racing is a GOOD THING!

Sadly we get less and less televised racing on the networks. Where was the HD coverage of the Sunshine Millions this year? And the Breeder's Cup off the Networks and now on on ESPN for a smaller audience. Yet people complain about the coverage the sport does receive. Personally I'm praying Magna can keep their head above water so we can continue to get HRTV.

No doubt Ken Rudolph is not Jim McKay but I'm sure he appeals to those that are not very familiar with the sport we love. Yes I much rather listen to Jon White but novices have a much easier time getting into the sport listening to a Ken Rudolph type who is more about entertaining the casual race fan.

i seriously doubt that anyone other than hardcore fans even knows that hrtv exists, or could pick ken rudolph out of a lineup.

It's hard for casual sports fans to be a true fan of horse racing. If it weren't for the gambling aspect, would a lot of us still follow all these stories? I've come to accept this will always be a small niche sport.

Matt C. is a good handicapper, but the rest of TVG could not pick a winner in a 1 horse race.

There probably happy about that, they can start their Los Al coverage 9 1/2 hours early. Add that to the non stop 4 hours of continuous coverage that they give to the actual card and it adds up to be a big day for Dave Weaver and Les Onaka!

I was watching Aussie racing the other day on TVG (shown between Los Al races) and found those two guys to be pretty good hosts.

The problem is that they stay with Los Al so long. It seems like as soon as the horses are on the track for the post parade they stay at Los Al. They don't cut to any other live races or anything they might have missed.

Hey Ken Rudoph picked Giacomo. He also has made a career of doing cameo walk-ons in a number of "B" movies. Usually as a police officer.:o

no joke... and by virtue of that one f'n "blind hog finding an acorn" selection, he thinks he's family to the Mosses and Mike Smith.

I cant listen to any of them too long. Shrup is real bad and Ken gets real old with his start of every race when he says " Good luck and ENJOY ".
