and the owner is, remember Greelys Galaxy and the campagne they had, same with the Ellis horse who finished fourth in the derby on a weeks rest. In each case the owner said run this horse in this spot, and since the owner buys really nice horses they are not going to say no.

None that I can remember and I have been going to see this race since 1973.

1:11 bullet from the gate from a horse you wouldn't have really thought of as a fast horse at all even with the BC win on the soft turf

good training job by biancone , and he worked him a gate bullet before the 7f sprint race where he chased a ridiculous 1:20 and then he wins here today.

The game can be pretty, and ugly in the same light. Good horses and good horseman and good medicine everywhere not just in this case.

anyone know what happened to Brother Keith ?

He broke on top in the San Rafael...

I was hoping he would be out front, and then he went wrong somehow...
At first it looked like the jockey was choking him back, or maybe the bit was wrong, and then i thought he was being pulled up to avoid a breakdown...

then at the end he was hard ridden and whipped to get up for 4th.

was he rank early? probably one of those instances where they were trying to teach a horse who wants to run off early how to rate. doesn't sound like he learned that lesson well...

Sad actually and they will be whining about the economy when their handle is down yet they can't even fill the gates for a graded stake. Last year both the San Rafel and Robert Lewis both offered no superfecta.

On HRTV after the race, I believe it was Millie Ball who reported that the she talked to Bobby Frankel who thought that the horse bolted to the outside when he came out of the turn and the sun hits his eyes.
