I always prefer to vote for a governor (either party) than a member of Congress. At least I have an idea of how he or she ran a state. Unfortuneately both candidates are senators. I don't care for either of them but in my opinion, McCain has the experience edge. Obama is too far left for my tastes. I also don't care for the too far right.

It really wasn't directed at your post, I just think the "this candidate sucks", "both candidates suck", "he's been in DC too long"..etc gets funny because has there ever been an ideal candidate? I guess I am in the minority, but I think these are the best two candidates from both parties I've seen in a while. For politicians, they are both honest, intelligent guys who I trust with our country. McCain is too right for me, Obama is too left for others but I won't wake up feeling like sh8t like I did after Bush won and I don't think many righties will give me the "I'm scared for my country" speech like they did after Clinton won.

Well...yeah..they will..

No problem.:) I just feel Congress is as much a problem as Bush and voting for one of them for president kills me.

Pawlenty and Romney now supposedly not going to be there? OMG:eek:

we may see the "maverick" in action today with some kind of surprise play.

The Bid 08-29-2008 08:07 AM

apparently one term in a higher office is all it takes....obama can't really attack someone else for lack of experience.
it's funny tho...he decries the washington elite who've been there forever, and that we need change...and picks joe biden as running mate.
it was also amusing back when bill clinton was bashing obama for his youth-exactly what they said about bill in his day.

The Bid 08-29-2008 08:15 AM

I dont know if she is, but I like her as a VP, and I think it will bring a lot of those who liked Hillary and hate Obama

Her ability to bring in the women vote will far outweigh the cry that she is not qualified.

Besides how can you say you want to be the "party of change" and then select Biden?

One other thing...I haven't heard much about Obama's speech this AM..the airwaves are filled with this VP choice..brilliant!

ArlJim78 08-29-2008 08:19 AM

i know this, i would rather have her than some of the others mentioned like Lieberman. it would be a bold pick and would inject some pizzazz on the repub side. The VP debate could be sold as pay-per-view there would be so much interest.
