I nominate this post for post of the century.

Has PG ever been quoted by a PG wannabe before this?

I should'nt have said that about TOE I was just pissed that he almost took CJ out and some other horses. However i don't think Tagg has any 11/4 mile horses in his barn, 3 yr olds that is. I should have blame Prado for poor ride or maybe TOE just got away from him in final turn. Anyway i cash the win but did not have Mambo Jambo for the exacta.

Colonel John has run on Poly exactly once and he lost. He has run on the All-Weather surface at Santa Anita and Hollywood (whose trademarked name escapes me) and won 3 of 6, or 50%; his percentage on traditional dirt is 1 for 2, or 50%.

I know many of you use Poly as a catchall to describe any AW surface, but they are not the same stuff and shouldn't be treated as such in discussion or in handicapping. Not even all the Poly tracks play the same way (AP vs Kee).

I'm kind of surprised Tale of Ekati hasn't tried the turf yet. Tagg always seems to lean that way with his horses anyway, and there is so much $$ to be had for 3 yr olds on the turf. I know he doesn't have that explosive turn of foot, but neither did Nobiz Like Shobiz, and Tagg turned him into a decent one. I'll take TOE's turf pedigree over NLS as well.

Turf is a possibility, but personally, I don't see why he doesn't cut back in distance. His best race is still the Futurity, Tale Of The Cat's--like Grand Slam's--usually bottom out at a mile, and he's made sharp middle moves in at least his last 2 route races only to hang/tire through the lane--typical of a late running sprinter.

He was nominated to the King's Bishop. Maybe he'll show up for the Jerome.
