Garbage or otherwise, if he wins on the turf he'd be a 4x G1 winner, dual classic winner and a turf stakes winner. That will make him more attractive as a turf sire, no matter who he beats.

What's more attractive? Making him more valuable winning a turf stakes or sending him to slaughter vs Curlin?

From what I remember reading, they sold 20-25% of him to 3 Chimneys for $10 Million. So they've got to enhance or maintain whatever residual value he has. Other than beating or running a tight 2nd to Curlin, it's not going to happen on dirt.

FIrst of all I do not know him personally. secondly if you think all the other big time trainers like Asmussen Pletcher, etc do not cheat and use illegal drugs and don't get suspensions (Amussen) then your head is in the sand. For a horse that has won five out of six Grade 1 races including the Derby and Preakness, how is this horse so disrespected by some of you? If you want to disrespect Big Brown's connections, I get that, but this has been a very good quality horse for us to enjoy this year.

Since the Preakness (5-0), he gets so much blustering on here. Here's what happened since then:

How about a pass on The Belmont? Gimme a break. Third race in five weeks and who knows why he didn't show up, just speculation. But it wasn't the same Big Brown. You don't think he would normally beat Da'Tara a horse that finished the Florida Derby when Big Brown was a zipcode past the finish line?

And then there was The Haskell that hardly any on here give him credit for. His chasing down Coal Play to win is very similar to Affirmed chasing the front running Sensitive Prince in the last 100 yards in the Jim Dandy that Laz Barrera considered one of Affirmed's finest efforts. Big Brown did the same thing and gets little credit.

The guy is the son of a great horsemen and had a shot to follow in his footsteps. Not too many get the luxury to be brought up and learn from a guy like Dick Dutrow. Rick was a degenrate gambler/drug addict who got that "rough life" all on his own. He has nobody to blame but himself for his pitfalls.

The guy has ZERO respect for others in the game...he has ripped Assmussen...David Carroll....what he did in The Whitney yrs ago to make sure St Liam won was ridiculous. Gary Contessa, who I am not a fan of, said it perfectly "At a time when he could be doing something good for the sport, he is doing the exact opposite". This was mentioned during the whole steroid talk when Dutrow was suppose to go in front of Congress.

What does knowing him personally have to do with anything? All you have to do is listen to him and follow along to know what he is all about.
