It's going to be interesting to see how well these Lion Heart's hold up. They're certainly hard to leave off a ticket...

Candy Ride is sick... He only covered about 2/3rds of the mares that Lion Heart did, and the early results are staggering... I'd like to see what he does with a full book :eek:

I'm not saying that I disagree, but just out of curiosity, what makes you say that? True, that was a nice run she put in down the stretch today after a stumble at the start, and both the debut race and the pedigree are certainly nice....but what makes you so confident that she'll end up better than today's winner?
From what we have seen from Mani Bhavan so far, is there really very much to knock?

Pretty Proliic capped what was a dreadful day for myself at the windows.

Dont think anyone will confuse J Lep with P Val getting a speed horse out the gate.

I see that she stumbled at the start, was moved to the rail where she made up some ground, then bounced to the outside and put in a good late run. I'm not trying to dispute that she is a promising filly or that she had a bit of a trip in the race, but I was just trying to figure out why btw would say that she will "easily prove the best of this bunch."
Both her and the winner now have two lifetime starts. Based on those races, I know that I personally don't see a reason to be COMPLETELY convinced that Pretty Profilic is definitely going to be better than Mani Bhavan. She very well could be, I'm just wondering why all of you guys are so convinced of it based on one race where the "other" horse won so easily.

I hope you didn't watch the head on.....as she had a far more eventful trip than that.

I got this race all wrong, instictively I was wondering when Alan Garcia decided to ride a Klesaris over a Mclaughlin horse the horse must be live.

Again, I'm not trying to dispute that she had a tough trip. I realize that in addition to the trouble she had at the start and in the opening strides, she also appeared to get cut off down the lane, and had to angle out while still gaining ground.
I see all of those things as reasons why she might be a good bet next out. The part that puzzled me a bit was why you and hooves both believed you could say that she will easily prove better than the winner.

I realize that Mani Bhavan had an ideal trip in this race while Pretty Prolific had a bad one, and so MB should have been able to win easily....but she actually DID win easily. She ran a lot faster in the opening quarter and the opening half than Out of Gwedda and Shone did in the previous race, and those two fell apart completely to finish off the board. Meanwhile, she pulled away in the stretch.
Pretty Prolific's late angle out and acceleration was no doubt impressive, but the horses like Simplify and Garden District that she passed looked totally spent to me.
I'm not trying to say that you guys are wrong, I'm just wondering what you see that I don't. Does the fact that she had a bad trip really mean she will easily prove to be the best when she was that far behind at the end? Sure, Mani Bhavan isn't actually 7+ lenghts better than Pretty Prolific at this distance, but I don't see how anyone can say much more than that at this point.

I agree with you there, and I found the polytrack choice a bit odd with her in the first place, (although she was one that I used in the race) but I suspect a return to dirt will be in order now.
The fact that the BC is on synthetic this year seemed to lead to one of the better Lassie fields here in recent memory, and the Futurity next week will probably be the same.
