While it is a dumb quote, it doesn't even compare with the moron at IEAH.

When explaining why he is going to the Haskell instead of the Travers.

"We're trying to avoid the heat; it's a lot more hot and humid [at Saratoga], it's a lot cooler down by the Jersey Shore."


I love Monmouth but it could be the most disgusting place on earth some days.
Saratoga is nice and cool in the mornings.

He should have just said NYRA won't pony up the $50K appearance fee. People might respect him for being honest, although the owner and trainer of Big Brown don't seem to be big on honesty.

No one was beating Lawyer Ron last year.
I mean lets be realistic here. The 2 Whitneys Commentator won were on a very speed biased track with a brilliant ride and this years softball version with a soft pace. He is not a horse that can win these kinds of races without the exact right trip.
