I never said or "acted like" anything of the sort... and what part of my statement was untrue??

Actually, Circular Quay ( maybe it's just me but these internet abbreviations are silly ) was lucky to beat Teuflesberg at Churchill, as not only did Teuflesburg set the fast pace that set things up for Circular Quay's perfect trip victory, but he did so after losing his irons at the start. Now, Scat Daddy at least ran that one down after getting hemmed in around the turn, and while he has probably won his last pari-mutual race, I expect his premature retirement or extended trip to the proverbial shelf to be announced any day, at least he overcame a bit of adversity. However, his supposed superior talent was MASSIVELY exposed in that very slow race today ( Scat Daddy would have handled NYB Maiden victor Tough and Easy by six lengths. That monster finally broke his maiden after 15 failures ).

Hopefully this Saratoga meet will showcase some actually talented horses. Those of you that think the Scat Daddys and Circular Quays of the world fit that bill need to get a reality check.

What was the reason Showing Up didn't run in the VA. Derby?

Another "professional horse analyst" opinion. I'll wait for Hank Goldberg to weigh in before makng conclusions. I will say I'd not be surprised a bit if Scat D goes on the shelf. Velazquez tortutred him like a Gitmo detainee the last 1/8.

My own opinion is Daddy beat a fairly nice maiden who was running back in 19days with no works here but Trip to the Bank, the open lengths second colt he beat in his debut, was nowhere to be seen. Circular Quay has looked far more impressive to me.

Then again, I'm no Hank Goldberg.

I have seen some nice 2yr olds and am not ready to crown any of them yet. CQs effort was ultra impressive the way he waited and then pussed the button and proved he was easly the best. Maybe it was the pace that flattered him. Scat was all ut to win but aybe it was the trip that clouded the issue. The big thin is CQ won with a full tank and Scat was empty. The recoveryfrom the race could be interesting. I wonder if we can sense the plans for a head to head meeting or will Pletcher keep them apart?

Just curious, what exactly does Hank Goldberg have to do with my post?

I'm sure I misunderstand you as I'm sure you're not the type of internet scumbag that takes cheap shots in a desperate and pathetic attempt to appear clever.

It wasn't an injury, he had an issue with a panalog injection.

Kev, I can't wait for this because this guy has just enough ego to let it outweigh his common sense(hes not a dumb guy, quite the contrary, hes bright outside of horse knowledge) and give us that matchup. If he does, I'm driving to meet him and we can make our little wager. I'll get you in Kev, just lemme know how much you want down.

I'm actually counting the days until the Turf Classic where they are both on course to meet. I'm actually hoping that Showing Up wins the Secretariat so this guy gets emboldened and gives us the matchup. Please let Showing Up win the Secretariat.

I might be up at Saratoga next weekend. I am heading to Arlington the following weekend of the 12th, but I 100% have to be at Saratoga on the August 15 for a yearling sale, so we can make our wager then.

Dude, you have no idea what you are talking about. Showing Up has become a monster over the last few months. He is no longer the cute nice horse he once was.

There is a reliable guy to pay off a bet. Use Oracle's money, I prefer to take his.

I'd eat gruel for the opportunity to get a heads up match up between English Channel and Showing Up.

I guess it will have to be a bet of which horse finishes ahead of the other. Showing Up is likely to be 4-1 or better and EC 2-1 or better so it is pointless to bet only if one wins, which I am sure Showing Up will do. But I won't take even money when I can get 4-1 or better.

So, the bet can be which horse finishes ahead of the other. Correct?

No cheap shot. Hank Goldberg's just yet another insider horse analyst. How you or anyone can say a horse ilike Circular Q s not of high ability at this point is a joke in, of course, my very humble opinion. Unless, of course you're trying to appear clever. No cheap shot, refer to me however the hell you like. Just so there's no misunderstanding. Desparate, pathetic, scumbag.... ouch! I'll get over it.
