No this is what happens when you have a hall of fame quarterback retire and you're left with a guy that works in the off-season as a china doll in a thrift store.
|
I think he should be given an interception since he keeps doing his confused state of mind act every year.
|
No one who has thrown as many stupid passes as he has should be in any hall of whatevah.

This has been going on for over 3 years. People seem to forget about this. This isn't new. When will it end? He has been given a pass by us as fans and the media more times than anyone else. No one forced him to make a decision this year. Ted Thompson begged for him to come back in McCarthy's first year as coach. Brett made his decision. His number is being retired on the first game of the year vs vikings, his locker was sent to him in MS. The packers have moved on and brett needs to do the same. He came out and told everyone he retired. I am not saying that Rodgers is the next MVP QB, etc.; but Favre is the past now. As much as I don't like it, it is time to move on. |
More importantly....when is Avery Smartman coming out of retirement?

Though considering he really wasn't Hall of Fame material...probably best if he stays retired. He's done enough. |
Don't think I don't see what you creatures are doing over here.

IF...and that's a huge IF considering who he is replacing, Rodgers stays healthy (and Favre doesn't come back): 1) GB will make the playoffs 2) He will throw at least 25 TDs 3) His passer rating will be 90 or better 4) And he will throw picks...probably 15 or so 5) BUT..He will rush for enough yards to be in the Top 5-7 QBs running the ball You're probably ROFLMFAO now, but I'll find this in December either way. and Scavs...if you want to double down on the Contreras Chicken wing bet you are about to lose, be my Guest |
If you guys are under the impression that this wasnt a pre-meditated attempt by favre and his agent to get out of GB, you are extremely naive.
The lastest rumor, per the nfl radio channel, is that Favre's agent was actually calling teams immediately after the "retirement" to guage interest in Favre. Favre wanted out. The team is not at fault and this could easily be a situation of happily ever after. Kind of like when Montana went to KC after all of the initial garbage. KC got to an AFC title game and the niners ended up winning another title. |

As to why, I can only speculate. One of the reasons is perhaps because this is a young team with a fairly new coaching staff that he didnt "grow up" with. How many of these guys does he have anything in common with? How many are from his "era"? How many can he go get a bite to eat with or a drink with after practice? He is close to 40. That has to factor in a little bit...although i wouldnt know how much. How much is it just curiousity? Whats it like playing somewhere else? How much does it have to do with how friggin cold it gets in GB during the winter? |

I do get what your saying, but sometimes think that "people" are trying too hard to figure out what happened. I think he really thought he was ready to retire in January and changed his mind somewhere along the way. And then created a real mess for everyone involved |

i did a google and found a link to an LA times article and it appears it is a legit rumor although the truth of the rumor can be questioned. Let me ask you this...if Brett Favre wanted out of GB, how else could he do it without crushing his image? |
