And I thought Hockey was irrevelant? Before anyone gets on me I am joking. I like Hockey.

the dude that calls races at woodbine rules......." and their awwwfffff "

You know, it's funny, if someone had said that "Canada was irrelevant" it would have caused much less of an outroar here than when someone said that Canadian racing is irrelevant.

Round Pen 06-20-2008 03:35 PM

you guys can say what you want about canadian racing, I have a couple of horses up at Woodbine when you can run a 2 year old 5F and the purse is 60k and when you convert it to US dollars it is still around 60k thats the place I want my horses running.

THe purse structure there is 2nd to none by far the best in North America especially now when the the US $1 and the Canadian $1 are virtually the same.

For those of you who are not that familiar about racing at Woodbine go to there web site and look at there condition book you will see purses are out of sight. why do you think Asmussen worked so hard to get stalls there he has 20 this year.

oh :D as far as the Queens Plate wide open and a very good betting race if you don't like the filly plus I am not that fond of Not Bourbon either.

Actually it's a pretty funny thread, I think almost every Canadian horse gets named.

Thanks for clarifying this, ebcause I haven't been ouon for a few days and was about ready to start a rant! OOOOOOHHHH! I'm sure you're all shaking at that threat lol.

But anyway, just to add something else-
Woodbine has really good beetable fields in a lot of their races. Big fields on turf and poly, big prices, and they do only $2 wagers for exactas, tris, and supers, so the payouts can be pretty big. Y'all should get off your Belmont/Church/Holl-hood 6-horse field preferences for 2 seconds to try it, and you might find you'll like it

I was only joking, there was another thread that a poster said Canadian racing was irrevalent, which basically everyone debunked. I'm glad there are others here that enjoy talking about international racing.

swedejxn 06-21-2008 06:53 AM

It is gonna be hard to beat the Filly... but even money on a field this size is a hard pill to swallow.... Solitaire may be overbet but can still make a few bucks with the kick... Post usually isn't a problem Sebastian will be in the mix at solid price... But I think Palmers is sitting on one....

In the songspiel... Marchfield/Mission approved exacta box

THE More i look, and trust me i have looked a lot...
the more i think the filly is a lock, she is actually more of a lock on paper then big brown was... and she wont be anywhere near 1-5
i am thinking of keying her in the pick 3,4 and maybe a large win/ and backup place bet

Send it in.

I think she's a horrible bet at a short price.

Not completely sure but Took The Time and Solitaire look like they could get there if the race falls apart.

There's nothing that says you have to bet every race. . . I barely have an opinion but Took the Time looks a little bit interesting. . .
