I have some undisputed information.

My feet are bothering me. Played tennis all weekend and plum worn out.

Trying some snake venom and should be good for this weekend.

No I think there is actually some truth to this rumor - except that it was Asmussen's feet not the horse's.:p

All horses have foot problems to some extent. It can be as minor as a badly driven nail, to a stone bruise, all the way to a full blown quarter crack.

In the case of Pyro, he has a very small, deer like hoof and raced in the Bluegrass with acrylic implants added to both front feet. The Assmussen camp was aware that Pyro had never worked well on poly; even as a unraced juvenile and just wanted him to maintain his condition and get something out of the Bluegrass.

When he ran as poorly as he did there was concern. Horses with sore wheels tend to "get out" so they worked him with the salty sprinter Noonmark and put Pyro down on the inside for the six furlong drill. All went well and yesterday's work confirmed Pyro will make his presence felt and get a big piece of the purse. Although he doesn't figure to run down favored Colonel John unless the draw or the trip compromise the latter. BBB

he has a deer-like hoof....hmm, interesting, considering deer have cloven hooves like goats. bad comparison.
he might have a small foot, but i hope it's nothing like a deers.

and i think my truck has sore wheels, so i feel bad for pyro going thru the same thing! :D
