Ballys takes good care of horse players, and always has a line dedicated to horse players so you're not stuck behind all the sports betters.
Comfortable, and good cocktail service too.

Fun and non-intinidating.:D

Bill's Gamblin Hall. we stayed there last april, right after Harrah's took it over. we REALLY liked it. the restaurants we just ok but plenty other places around to eat. the rooms were just redone in the last 2 years.
small casino and racebook. seemed to be plenty of "regular" players in the racebook. the casino was more crowded in the evening.

I would recommend staying away from Mandalay Bay if you want to bet on horses during the NCAA Basketball Tourney. They have one or two windows that are supposedly "horse racing only", but unfortunately they take basketball wagers also when there are no horseplayers around. This presents a problem when you walk up to the window to wager on a race & the entire line (hundreds deep) thinks you're cutting in line. They have done this over the past several years and haven't adjusted, despite being notified of the problem. Just my take.
