Out of my last 6 bets, I've had 1 winner and 4 seconds --- 2 of which I should've won. The other one was this horse. If he gets out, like he's supposed to, he wins.

As another poster pointed out, he could have gotten out, but apparantly Bravo felt the horse wanted to run into another horse's ass. Who knows, maybe the trainer told him the horse likes to run into horses, as that's about the only logical explanation I can come up with.

She had already accelerated by the horse who ended up clunking along for second. She would have won the race with a competent rider.

I agree with hooves...Famous Patriot is interesting in this race and at that price.

What more is there to say: KEY on the turf is having a clear run ---even at the cost of ground loss. You can't keep a horse that's full of run behind horses that have run and are backing up.

Not too get too much off base, though I think this is very relevant given the high number of poor rides: it would be a huge benefit to these IDIOT jockeys if they were to take the time and watch bicycle races. When I go to the local velodrome, I can always predict who is going to win a given race cause they MOVE at the right time.
In fact, jockeys would benefit IMMENSELY (in terms of pace and strategy) if they were to ride in bike races. Why is that, you might ask? Cause, if they were the ones doing the work (rather than the horses they senslessly punish) they'd realize how idiotic, not to mention COUNTERPRODUCTIVE, some of their moves are.

I'm all for it.

On another note.....how much will Barreling Home win his next race by?

Would have won if he hadn't gotten shut off going outside in midstretch. That sucks.

Barreling Home

Lynch also moves way up with second time starters for MSW 3-year olds from 9% FTO to 26% Second time out (over 40% if horse is 4-1 or less)... Did not see the race was he in trouble or just came on nicely at the end...

He got that clever 5 wide middle move on the turn that I'm so fond of.

That was after breaking a bit slow and trailing the second to last horse by four on the backstretch. Apparently Elvis ( who left the building at least for that race ) saw the silks and thought he was on Ghostzapper.

Could Awesome Again be the most underrated sire out there? I mean now he is 150k but nobody talks about him and what he throws....

I really don't understand it either. I mean at double digits odds I can see taking a shot but 7/2 is pretty crazy for a horse that has never run fast enough and has the human anchor riding.

Scav 01-26-2008 02:47 PM

The Coal Man/Benny DD was the steal of the century at 11.60....

He was a monster that race, should be a huge figure. It was nice of Trujillo to move Mach Ride of the rail for Benny. The 9 ran pretty well, the outside horses really got boned on the start with everybody breaking in a line.
