Obviously I'm not getting into the personalities discussion here but I did want to comment on this......I think it is a poor idea for racetracks to allow the broadcasting of " information " such as trainer's comments on their horses. There are several reasons for this. One is that only some will talk, and even if they tell the truth, what about the opinions of those that didn't talk? You are, at the very best, only offering a partial story. Plus, you are offering the opinions of people who may or may not have good judgement.
The second problem is much bigger....stories that turn out to be not true. There is, of course, the famous story of one trainer telling Jan that his first time starter couldn't run and would make a cute pony for his children. That horse went on to take serious action at the windows and win in a common gallop. There was also the firster at Saratoga a few summers ago who's trainer said had no speed and would probably need a race and ended up winning wire to wire by 15 lengths. Did these people lie to Jan or were they surprised? I'll let others decide.....but to me when you end up giving out horrendous information like this, and I'm not blaming Jan per se, it destroys all the credibility of this sort of " info. "
" Information " is a very slippery slope....and broadcasting it is even more dangerous.
