Why do they always let Citronnade get an easy lead? It's unbelieveable that no one ever goes with this horse.

An easy lead going 8.5 furlongs, let alone going the 9 or 10 she is used to. You would think that enough jocks have been in a race with her to realize that someone has to take the brunt. Our boy Han or Availa should put a speed ball in there, cause all sorts of problems

It looked like Foxysox wanted to go, but Joe had a strangle hold on her. How many races it is going to take these guys to realize that you are not going to get her in the stretch, when she gets an easy lead? Basically they are just racing for second.

do you think if he would have sent Foxysox to the lead she would have had any shot at second? I think its just that each guy does what he thinks gives his horse the best shot, and none of those had the kind of speed to deny Citronade the lead and surivive. Sure they would like to win but they also don't want to compromise their chances of getting a check either.
I know what you're saying somebody has to do it and take one for the team to soften up Citronade so she will be caught. But what is the reward for doing that? To me its was just a case of a horse having much better speed so everyone else is at a disadvantage. They ARE running for second unless she is off her game.

I understand what you are saying about Jocks compromising their chances to get a check. But in Foxysox's case, it looked like she wanted to go. Talamo tried to rate her and look where it got him. I do think he was in trouble no matter what he did. It also looked like Citronade didn't break to sharply either and she still got right to the front. I think Scavs said it, trainers are going to have to enter a speed horses in races versus Citronade. Otherwise she will continue to get away in the stretch. And boy, did she look good getting away yesterday.
