Marvin Lewis doesn't sign players, Mike Brown does. Lewis just coaches them. I'm not sure if Lewis is solely responsible for player personnel decisions on that team. It he is, then yeah I guess.

As a Knickfaninexile just bringing up that name makes me sick!

Im not a bears fan by any stretch but ive watched all three of his games this year in their entirety. The blame can be spread. For instance, why does Ron Turner have him throwing outs when its clear he throws best across the middle? Why do they put him in predictable passing situations? Why is there no speed out of the backfield to compliment the power of Benson?

The receivers are quitting on the routes because they don't have the confidence that Rex will deliver the ball where and when it is supposed to be delivered. It is as simple as that.

He needs to watch film, develop better chemistry with his receivers and he needs to sit on the bench for a few games and get his head straight. Right now, he and everyone else are sitting and waiting for him implode every time he trots out there. He needs to regroup. At this point, he needs to lose his job for a while.

I feel the opposite about Grossman. I watch him plenty and have always thought that (to paraphrase Denny Green) he is who I thought he is...a guy with no clue, bad fundementals who played with overwhelming talent against simple schemes in college who is simply overmatched in the pros. He may have arm strength but even a novice like me watches him throw off the wrong foot and get happy feet in the pocket and rush everything. He never lets the game come to him and if they dont have the defense on run, he is brutal. I just cant see what the guys who defend him see.

A bad coach and perhaps an even worse GM, but if the testimony coming out of that trial is to be believed, he's quite the eloquent wordsmith, a staunch women's advocate and a real class act.

Then how can you explain the stretch last year where he looked like the best QB in the NFL?

The happy feet and the rushing is all mental. When he is on, you dont see that. He has a cannon for an arm and over the middle he can thread it with the best of them. His head is just thoroughly messed up right now. God...how did i get into defending Grossman?

Some guys never come back from a prolonged slump like this. Most don't. But I would disagree with you on the talent being there. In my opinion, it certainly is.

he's a headcase--if he was a colt, they'd geld him...when he's on, he's good, but he's off so much it doesn't make up for when he's on. the leader of the offense needs to be dependable and consistent.

Chuck, I hate Thomas so much, that I root against the Knicks now. Thomas and Dolan has ruined the whole organization so much that I really hate them. I want them to lose every game so Thomas will get fired and pray I that Dolan sells the team (and the Rangers for that matter). They are the laughingstock of the NBA, and maybe even the rest of the sports world.

He was fortunate to play for a team that kept getting the ball in great field position and had a guy returning kicks who was scoring a td a game. Just where and when was that stretch because I was out of the country one weekend and must have missed that. And please dont make me revisit his stats from last year, it will anger Morty and StS

They don't exist any longer....

Looking back at just the stats one thing that sticks out is that with the exception of the late season games against dreadful Tampa and Detroit, Grossman played poorly in almost every tight game or loss. Week 3 against Minn he was bad, Week 6 against AZ (the devin Hester comeout party) he was bad, the loss vs Miami he was awful as well as the Jets game (they shut the Jets out otherwise it might have been a loss too) and he was terrible against NE too. When a team that was playing Defense like the Bears were last year, he was constantly put into situations where he had do ok (the other teams defense spending too much time on the field because the o was 3 and out all the time) plus the turnover margin and Hesters returns were putting them in positive field position all the time. Well the Defense aint the same this year for many reasons and ol Rex aint getting the nice setups that he was and the results are as expected, miserable.

Not really...the bears were winning easily against bad teams and he was not having to do anything, just maintain the leads. He was dreadful in week 3 against Minnesota which almost cost them a game. I guess what I am saying is that just about any average NFL QB can do ok with a big lead and great field position. Rex is below average as he is showing this year.
