but still can't believe you spent 90 minutes in a wal mart looking for a bird. |
I like Shopton Lane too.

I have to say I'm a little surprised that everyone thinks Tiz Wonderful is done. There were enough people out there to make him 9/2 in the Jim Dandy and it's pretty easy to think he needed a race. Could Asmussen have run him in an allowance race and then the Travers? Sure.
This horse showed a great deal of talent last year and tomorrow's race definitely is make or break. NT |
Misérables ?
T. Misérables looked like he was rolling up on the leaders at about the 5.5-6furlong point and then stopped. He was very rank and Johnny was fighting him a bit- if he has his athleticism back maybe he can relax here. IMO it could go either way. There is a fair chance that he will never be a Graded Level horse (or even a 75k stakes level), but he is still a possible talent, and just being at 80% of what he was puts him in contention.
Is Warrior the obvious alternative? Levine has his horse at its peak. What the heck happened to Reptilian Smarts in the Barbaro? How bad was his gate trouble? Give me a good reason to draw a line through that race??? |
Levines horse will be tough even if Tiz Wonderful is 100%.

Not that I'm referring to anyone in particular. And thank you for the complement! |

However, I could never dare to dream to be that good looking. My utter lack of vanity would demand that the long hours I'd need would be too much work. |

Sadly, not everyone is blessed with the ability to arise from bed in the morning and be stunningly handsome without any work. It's a curse....but I fight on... |

I spent about 30 of those 90 minutes looking at how I could expand my electronics collection and trying to figure out why they had only my three least favorite ben & jerry's flavors in stock. We were about to give up on that bird, and yeah, an hour may seem excessive, but I have a fondness for animals. Especially ones that have been wronged by people. One time, I got out of my car on my street while driving, and picked up a snapping turtle that was just sitting in the road. After I deposited her in the woods, out of nowhere, I start hearing this applause! I thought it might be a long awaited appearance by god, but alas, it was this little 90 year granny that was watching me from up on her property. It was a bit weird. |

To me, TW was clearly the best and most exciting colt from this entire crop. I actually saw video on one of his works prior to his comeback though, and thought he might not be the same. It was an early work though, so foolishly I thought he'd do okay in his comeback. The impression I got while watching that race, well, it reminded me of Lady's Secret, back when she was making her last comeback. She looked like she was miserable out there on the track, and really didn't want to race anymore. So, to me, it wasn't an issue of fitness. My guess was that he was in discomfort from running, or he was just mentally fighting being out there. Or maybe he really was having a bad allergic reaction to something. Despite how people are taking my posts about him, I really do hope he comes back and runs to my earlier expectations of him. I'm a huge fan of his grandsire, cees tizzy, who was possibly one of the most unheralded talents ever! |
