Oh I'm not saying for a minute that there isn't a ton of ego involved, but it ain't all Tiger. In fact, next years Captain is one of the biggest jerks out there. The difference is that because of logistics, the Euro's are a team for 2 years and the US team is a team for that week. The Euro's travel together on the tour, their wives are friends, their kids go to school together. So when they have to play together as a team, it's a walk in the park. Oh by the way European team, you have to play against 12 players from the U.S. that don't really know each other and are going to be thrust into perhaps the most pressure packed event in all of sports. I'll be waiting on Sunday with the champagne. It's that simple.

99% of the guys on tour are self centered. You have to be.

Of course, athletes are usually self-centered,but not to the point that they can't enjoy team play. Most of these guys on the PGA Tour say they love to play the team golf.Tiger just doesn't like it.He can't control it(the outcome.)That is just not something that is part of his make-up,and, like I said,I see this in some other very talented people. It's either of 2 situations(or both.) Either their ego is just way too big to allow considering others to be their equals,or they hate to fail (hate to make mistakes) so much that they hate to ever give up the steering wheel.

Wow,the Parker M guy really gave it up on the Nationwide T today.

I don't think it's either of that. If you are talking strictly about the Ryder Cup, I think it just comes down to the fact that the Europeans get along better and they are flat out mentally tougher than we are. I'll take the Scot, the Irishman, or the Brit to an alley fight any day over the guy from the Woodlands or Isleworth.
