del mar: a physical ticket purchased at a casino. the ticket has a bar code showing not just the bet but the date/time and terminal where it was purchased.

this has more in common with the folks that hit the huge hollypark carryover 2x on cheap tickets than the bc scandal.

Nothing irritates a horse player more than a guy who hits a big number by dumb luck. After all don't we all spend a great deal of time studying PPs, reading books and horse racing boards. Along comes a guy without much of a clue and walks out with $100K. Makes ya feel like you are just wasting your time. Not a good feeling. Would you rather be lucky or good?
