GAI Waterhouse's dual Epsom Handicap winner Desert War has been ruled out for the spring after tests revealed a strain in his near foreleg.
Being set for the Cox Plate, Desert War finished last in a trial on Tuesday and was sore yesterday.
"He's out for the spring but he will be back for the autumn," Waterhouse stable representative Marette Farrell said.
"It's not major, it's just a timing thing."

I wish id known of this forum a few years back, i told everyone when he first started racing hed make it to the top. Hes an awesome horse, and it was a shame they had to geld him.. would have made lovely foals.
