Well, I feel terribly guilty cause I promised Cal that I would always care for him when we rescued him...but I'm unemployed and down now to my last $160 so I really can't take him with me...besides I don't have a trailer or a vehicle that would pull one. He WILL get a good home, even if I don't get a cent but I really do need some cash!

Somer,
I'm still trying. I don't think I can help you in the dog department, but I'm trying to find a home for Cal.
Come on DTer's! Open your hearts!
If you ride, Cal might be a good one. Does anyone know what Genuine Risk (Nicole) has been up to? I haven't seen her on here lately, but Cal might be a nice one for her.
Good luck, Somer. I'm trying.

Thanks DTS...Cal would be a great horse for anybody. I was out with him awhile ago, sprayed him with the hose cause it's so hot...he walked up to me and lifted his head so I could get his neck...very smart and so kind and gentle!

Somer,
I keep putting out the word. Lately I've been working with a real nice Arabian gelding named Lancelot. He was a "lesson horse" at C W Post College on Long Island. He came to the farm with a bowed "t" but he seems to be getting himself healed up. Rider up yesterday. Just walked, but quite fine.
For sure, Cal sounds like a very nice one.
I'll keep trying.
OK DTer's...anybody want a "companion horse"?
Somer might have a good deal for you....and for Cal.

Someone has to have some room for him. Everyone needs a little help every now and then. Everyone has been helped by someone along the way and now its your turn to help someone. If you don't have room, what about one of your friends or family members. WE ALL talk about how we want ethical treatment of horses and heres a guy that is actually trying to find a solid home and not just dump him on somebody. Someone step up....Please.

I'm grateful for everyone's concern and efforts...taking care of a horse is a big commitment, we had the farm and 7 horses...never thought it would come to this! Bottom line, it kills me to see Cal go but it is impossible for me to keep him, same with Gizmo and Skippy. I've been scraping for as long as possible, tired of burritos and TV dinners but the money is gone and I have to find homes...
