I know he's concerned about Chuck's diet. Could be Richard Simmons.

Something real fishy there.

i think he will get in the money..with curlin getting tired and hard spun showing his 3rd big race ,,street winning going away..

I wasn't taking a shot at anybody . It seems to me CQ would be a obvious for the Preakness he was proabably a short horse in the derby . I don't think Steve wants a bunch of people with 3000 posts patting each other on the back every day. I just put the Zito thing in because he always gets a pass.

I don't think Nick gets any more of a pass than most. He certainly gets more than his share of shots on this board.

I liked CQ a lot in the Derby, and I think he could be a good value here in comparison to the top three.
To me this race is a tough one to figure out how to play, but I think including CQ in exactas and trifectas with Curlin and Hard Spun is the way to go. You have to assume that CB is going to try skimming the rail again with Street Sense, and one of these times he is going to get shut down. Maybe it won't be this race, or maybe Street Sense really is good enough to beat top horses without the ground-saving ride, but I am going to make him prove it to me one more time, largely because there will be ZERO value on him.
With all the speed up front, I think CQ is a factor here.
Look at his beyer numbers at Churchill Downs and other tracks. His best races at both 2 and 3 have NOT been at Churchill. Despite his two wins there, he has actually looked stronger at Saratoga and in Louisianna than he ever has at Churchill. He may like Pimilico.

I think alot of people who don't post much would post more if they didn't get what do you know you only have 20 posts or hoov what ever his name is you won't make it till your 28 post because you might have had a difference of opinion with somebody.

You don't get your complimentary crying towel until 100 posts. Don't worry what anyone says. Fear not the beasts for they have rubber teeth.

What is your point? Where is the evidence of Zito getting a pass?

No one gets a pass, if you have an opinion say it but you should expect to be challenged.

After you send out thinly veiled shots to BTW and Cannon, you just want to whine about not getting to say your opinion?

What is it about threads involving CQ in the Preakness?
They all seem to......well.....stop being about CQ in the Preakness.

blackthroatedwind 05-15-2007 02:35 PM

Not that I particularly think CP West has much of a chance, I also would have said the same thing about Birdstone in the Belmont, so I don't think Nick has to apologize to anyone. His record speaks for itself. The guy has won two Derbys, one Preakness, and one Belmont a lot of people thought he had no business being in ( and was 40-1 ).

I tell you what....I bet he finishes ahead of King of the Roxy.

Sure wish he'd done that in the Champagne.

I agree with BTW I just thought it was kind of a head scratcher after the last race where I was told he doing great and should win. I just didn't think he put any fight up at all. I was just surprized nobody thought it was odd he was running thats all.

I never should have said Battle One had no chance. I know Mike Vietch picked him on on top. I just thought people were piling Sanders in the thread.

yeah, reminds me of the decision to run any given saturday in the wood, rather than giving an extra week up to the bluegrass. and we all know how well that ended up. and apparently saturday has a hoof bruise now as well....

well, i certainly see the connection between the two....not. other people (myself included) piled on sanders. what that has to do with chuck and a horse he had i don't know.
