once upon a time, infamy wasn't a word either...maybe byk'll be in websters one day for making a new word! |
Great work Steve, as usual!
You should be a columnist for a living...great way with words! |
Hey, if Shakespeare didn't have a word for what he wanted to say he made one up, and he was what, the fourth most popular playwright of his time. :)
Of course, some of the words didn't catch on. See "fadge." |

And I, poor monster, fond as much on him, And she, mistaken, seems to dote on me. What will become of this? As I am man, My state is desperate for my master's love. As I am woman, now, alas the day, What thriftless sighs shall poor Olivia breathe! Twelfth Night, Act II, scene ii You know, I think I'm going to bring back "fadge." As in, "Though I hope Street Sense wins the Preakness, with both Hard Spun and Curlin in the mix, I really don't know how the race will fadge." |
With dictionary.com, I can do anything...

Got a little piece in Equidaly Mr. Byk.
Who runs that site and decides what articles to put up? Hey I found this Byk guy way back on the ESPN site. He was but a mere pup weaving his magic eons ago. Probably does not remember but I said you got to be a writer... way back. |

Thx.. I do remember the early postings and the warm reception they received. That was spring of '02 and I started the Y! version of DT in February of '03... Of course I still am no further along on the book I'd like to get out.. Hard to believe what all of us have accomplished with the Stable, site, et al, since then... EQUIDAILY is run by Seth Merrow, an Albany TV production company guy who also is featured on OTB-TV12 in Upstate NY. He's been very supportive of my efforts from early on, including stuff I've written in the Equidaily 'Guest House' and linking pieces I've done for Blood-Horse, etc.. He's a terrific handicapper himself and a regular at the Barbecue all summer.. |
Steve,
Your verbal snapshot of the Derby was like getting the pictures back from your summer vacation. A rare moment to be taken back to an absolutely wonderful time. Nice meeting JJ as well as seeing you again. Spyder Also, why do I still get the rare e-mail from Derby Trail Yahoo. Is that still going? |
