Does that count as Cleveland Sports? (it's ugly, btw) Leaves the door open, n' everything. What you raising up there?

I honestly thought the Dodger farm hand we got for Lacey Cake was going to be a superstar. He's been about the only disappointment of the season so far. I couldn't believe he took 3 straight pitches with bases loaded and two outs in the 9th down 1 run yesterday. I still think the sky is the limit for him. I'm now wondering if he's completely recovered from his knee surgery. Catcher is not an easy position to play with bad knees.

(get with the program scuds...this is the type of stuff that goes on this thread.) Absolutely anyone is welcome in Progressive field (even midges and canadian soldiers)...5 digit crowds have been non-existent so far. I would even welcome Barry Manilow or Barbara Streisand caps at the Prog. It's the house of anyone who buys a ticket and also a vast and diverse communty of wonderful Lake Erie insects. The Cavs are done, the Browns are locked out, and it's simply baseball season right now. Study up on Luke Easter, open up a bottle of beer with your eyelid, ala Super Joe and get back to me.

Can't leave Toledo out. They would appear to have zero cops in that area of Toledo.

You know Toledo actually probably has more Tigger than Tribe fans. I'm still confused what these videos have to do with Carlos Santana or Casey Blake or even my boy buck-buck. There is depression and violence in Ohio cities? Wow, good thing you're here for our education. It's quite amazing. I'm still very confused however what this has to do with Cleveland's sports, or is it simply how bad I destroyed you on that other thread you are so famous for that you have to slide over here now??

What'd you think of the Santana-Blake deal?? I know you're a Dodger fan as I see by your signature line....a massive one. From the Cleveland sporty fan side I really liked the deal. How'd you as a Dodger fan like it?? C'mon boy, back on track here, I know you know baseball and this is a Cleveand baseball thread amongst other things. If you don't know anything about Cleveland sports that's ok, not too many people do, but those on here know a ton and we'll help you out.

I am way, way smarter than you scuds if you didn't figure that out yet. (on the topic, Cleveland sports that is.) Stay on board and learn something. This is my last reply to you on this thread until you stay on topic however. I know you can do it. Make a better effort at least. You can even make fun of cleveland sporty figures as it's easy to do....that's on topic.

Hey, wait a second, I just looked at the standings on the internets. It says the Dodgers are 8-10. I get it now...you are just jealous of America's team I believe and you just wanted to come feel some of the excitement!! It's all about the bullpen baby, that's why we're so good right now. check out C Perez post all star break 2010. It will scare you how good he is.

:tro::tro::tro::tro:

horseofcourse 04-20-2011 03:50 PM

What is exciting about the Tribe scuds is after the all star break they had the 4th best ERA in the AL last year and their lineup was 40 percent minor leaguers...part of that was the knee surgery guys (Santana and Grady Sizemore) a key to this season was getting the lineup better and if those two guys could recover quickly and if they were close to what they could be this year, that alone would be at least 10 to 20 more wins just by their presence. Both lefties in the pen, Sipp and R Perez were good in the 2nd half last year after being horrendous in the 1st half and C Perez was without any question the best closer in the game post all star break. clyde last year detailed how much Bat Masterson improved the last two months as he seemed to find something....I was not convinced on him, but he has appeared to maintain what he found. Exhausto was great in 2007 and by 2009 was pitching in rookie league ball....that's how fast and far he fell. His redemption from the abyss last year was one of the great stories in baseball but since it was in Cleveland it was not reported but on this thread.

I really think it is not much of a fluke what is going on so far. Time will tell...there is still lots of questions on how good the other 3 starting pitchers are though Carrasco and Tomlin have both been great so far. The injury to Talbot was unfortunate. But historically, since 2000 when the team has a good bullpen they contend, and to me it appears they have a really good one this year.

clyde 04-20-2011 04:12 PM

That's tellin' the fucl<er!

Ho hum clyde, just another win. Clockwork. The midget KC lefty reliever will be having continual nightmares seeing Jack Hannahan. The big news is Tony Sipp actually struggled. He was smart enough to struggle with a 7-2 lead however so the bullpen even knows when it is proper to struggle, that's how good they are. my cousin vinny, r perez, joe smith and c perez all lights out once again though. Bat Masterson now 4-0 trying to keep up with the two Angel starters in the Cy Young race.

horseofcourse 04-20-2011 11:00 PM

...this good....I've been trying to talk about how good this guy is...this guy below does it better.

. If you think that C. Perez – he of the wild hair, the braggadocios Twitter account, and the direct path from the mound towards home after every pitch – is just “sound and fury, signifying nothing”, realize that since the beginning of last season, Pure Rage has a 1.54 ERA, a 1.02 WHIP and has struck out nearly a batter an inning en route to 29 saves. Chris F. Perez hasn’t allowed an earned run since August 6th of last year, when he allowed 2 earned runs. Those 2 earned runs are the only ones that he’s allowed since the end of June last year.

Let me re-state that in different terms so it isn’t lost on anyone – in his last 41 1/3 IP over his last 40 games, Chris Perez has allowed 2 earned runs. That’s a 0.43 ERA for a 25-year-old that the Indians control THROUGH the 2014 season…all for ˝ of a season of Mark DeRosa.

It's beginning to be something out of Major League-----reality warping through from fiction, but that's good if not spooky.

I don't think I'll be here for the ride much more if at all.Did read your C/Pz statistical analysis.Amazing stuff. Thanks so much.

So far this is a big deal with one of the lowest paid teams in baseball;that it's Cleveland obviously makes it that much better. One last thing, I think Brantley could well wind up the overall star of the position players by years end.

You so mushed that poor man. So many pitchers get'n burned on 0-2 counts today.

WE can now say C Perez has given up 2 earned runs in his last 0.33 innings pitched.

horseofcourse 04-28-2011 09:12 PM

First bullet of their recent drafts on Saturday. Alex White, the 2009 number 1 pick gets the start. He's been dominant in AAA this year...hits upper 90s on the gun. They're loaded with power arms in the minors. Tomlin and Carrasco are just precursars to the real good ones coming up soon. They're higher on Pomeranz (last year's number one) than White even.

horseofcourse 04-30-2011 12:37 AM

11 straight at home now. 17-8 with Santana still below the Mendoza line. That's scary. He has homered in two straight including walk off granny tonight so perhaps he is finally coming around. Choo is starting to hit and Sizemore has been ludicrous since his return. Jean Gomez is not very good. Talbot and/or Carrasco have to come back soon. Can't wait to see what White does Saturday.

horseofcourse 05-02-2011 09:06 AM

completed their 5th sweep of the season on May 1st. Next....

They're loaded. Good pitching, good hitting and good fielding generally translates into success for a baseball team. They're 4-1 in games started by their 6th and 7th starters in the organization. Exhausto goes today.

clyde 05-08-2011 01:40 PM

!

1/5 of the season is gone.

I'm excited.

clyde 05-08-2011 03:02 PM

thud!

Urrns did faint!!

horseofcourse 05-08-2011 05:20 PM

Tough one for America's team...3 unearned off Exhausto courtesy of the backup third baseman then 2 infield hits with two outs in the 8th by the 8th and 9th hitters leads to 3 runs for Angel clowns. All 6 runs by Angels score with two outs. Very rare fail by the bullpen, but I guess no one is 100 percent.

clyde 05-08-2011 05:29 PM

Phooey.

horseofcourse 05-08-2011 05:31 PM

11 infield hits in a 3 game series by Angels. Ridiculous. Home cookin'.

clyde 05-08-2011 05:33 PM

Really??

The Angels are known cheaters anyway.

I'm adding them to the FOF's...that makes 12.
