Vyjack now a possibility..

Baffert sounded unlikely with Code West on ATR today. Owner Gary West not that interested in running..

Did they abolish the Woody Stephens or something?

Incognito a go..

Merlinsky 05-31-2013 12:25 AM

Has anybody watched that round table (well, I guess 3 people constitutes a round table) on Bloodhorse about this year's Belmont? About halfway through I felt like I was watching Kentucky Derby pre-race commentary from 1995. Dosage?

Oxbow still bouncing about (works of Will Take Charge and Golden Soul available too):

And an excellent blog entry from Andy:

Andy's writes so well and is so passionate about his sport its hard to ever find issue with his comments.

Jay Privman tweet: No Belmont for Code West, says Baffert. He will not have any runners at Belmont Park for that day's card.

13 in that field, but a race I hadn't seen on video before:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1immmAJSubw

http://news.google.com/newspapers?ni...g=5443,1948469

Some interesting stats in those newspaper clippings:
- It was the first time the Derby winner skipped the Belmont since 1970; and
- Largest field for the Belmont was 14 in 1875

I think I'm going to favor the early speed types, even with a large field.

Grabbing disease is everywhere. Even if it isn't, Oxbow is a tough horse and the pace will not be as fast as the Derby.

Alabama Stakes 06-04-2013 08:35 AM

Any love for Revolutionary yet going 12 furlongs ? Big fields = big payouts
