Gotta love 1st claim Ness... conditioned 8K goes a second and a fifth off the track record over a course that hasn't exactly been kind to speed.

I think you can ask the same question of HVG - he shadowed Garcia and gets the horse settled and saves all the ground, then lets the rail close instead of going with the horse when he's clear
