They would have been a completely different team focused on defense and the running game so every game would have played out very differently. They went 10-6 the year before against the 14th toughest schedule in the NFL with Jackson and Frerotte. They could have improved on that this year against the 31th toughest schedule in the NFL.

Consider this, last year the Jets went 9-7 with the 31st ranked schedule and Favre having an All Pro year. This year they replaced him with a QB who had a 63.0 QB Rating, played the 3rd toughest schedule in the NFL, and still finished with a 9-7 record. Why? Because they completely altered their style of football, just like the Vikings would have done without Favre and just like the Vikings did last year.

Just about everyone I know is relieved that we won't have to hear them drone on and on about Brett Favre this and that in the Superbowl

Yeah now we get 6 hours of Katrina coverage. Hooray!

Zuh? The guy threw 22 interceptions, that's All-Pro worthy?

He made the Pro Bowl and not as an alternate, that's what I was going by.

Allen Iverson made the NBA All Star game as a starter BTW..

NBA goes strictly by the fan vote so is totally meaningless. NFL is 1/3 fan vote, 1/3 player vote, and 1/3 coaches vote so is only partially meaningless.

I know I was thinking that too that is one reason I wanted my favorite player, Kurt Warner to win but

no

see him come back next year to hopefully end yet ANOTHER conference championship game with a moronic interception.

Either way, I got a lot of satisfaction out of watching him fail last night. Seeing that last pick was almost as satisfying as watching Tebow and the Gators going down to Alabama.

:D :tro: :D

Come on. It's meaningless. There's no way anyone with 22 interceptions should be called an All-Pro.

Favre threw 7 of them after the Pro Bowl voting was done. That was a pretty bizarre case. People were talking about him as an NFL MVP candidate up until that point.

Tavaris Jackson leads a team to 10-6. LOL

Wanna bet on the superbowl sniper?

All Favre has to do is manage not to strangle himself tying his shoes and people would talk about him as an MVP candidate. He didn't have a good year with the Jets, much less an All-Pro one.

Completely unthinkable, right?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/teams/...=min&year=2008

If I recall you thought Reggie Bush would be the greatest running back in NFL history. So I assume you want the Saints. Sign me up for the Colts -4.5 for however much you want of what I owe you.

I had a feeling you'd come back with that. Look at who they played when Jackson started. A rout of the NFC Champion Cardinals in Arizona among the wins. And don't try and tell me Gus Frerotte is better.

Yeah, $60 of the $140 sounds good. Colts -4.5, if it is a push we'll both send our money to Haiti. ;)

Are you saying Jackson is definitely better than Frerotte? Frerotte is the epitome of journeyman and is not very good but Jackson is a bad QB as well.

Probably the same as last year. A loss in the first week of the playoffs. Favre made them a better team. I don't remember the Delonte West discussion. Was it something about Trevor Ariza being one of the 3 or 4 best players in the NBA or something? You gotta appreciate someone who goes Mad Max real time though. I think Delonte was searching out dalakhani with his packed guitar case this summer. Delonte's delirium will eventaully be the end of the Cavs this year.

I think they are both equal QBs, neither is definitively better than the other. If you can go 10-6 with Jackson and Frerotte you could go 10-6 with Jackson and Rosenfels, they are all interchangeable.
