i agree with that. mccain seems more center of the road, while obama is far left, too far to the left for me. but i'm seriously looking at him now, altho i suppose one could always vote for JM and hope like hell he lives four years-no guarantee of course, and i certainly am not wishing the guy ill....unlike certain folks regarding tom brady...at any rate, i don't like palin AT ALL. she's too far to the right. |

Why is that? You so sure I was gonnna vote McCain/Palin? |
speaking of scary, if anyone is interested in knowing what it really means to be a community organizer in Chicago.

for the social issues, I'm sure you're referring to Palin, but where did you get your info? she has not pushed to have creationism taught in schools. |

from factcheck "Palin has not pushed for teaching creationism in Alaska's schools. She has said that students should be allowed to "debate both sides" of the evolution question, but she also said creationism "doesn't have to be part of the curriculum." |

As for palin, what are the chances that McCain croaks? And even if he does how exactly can a Republican President (especially one not elected) get ultra right wing programs past a democratic congress? A VP basically goes into hiding the day after the election and anyone who thinks that McCain is going to allow Palin to be his Cheney obviously doesnt understand McCain. The whole one heart beat thing is so overblown. |

No one has ever prohibited this debate in public schools, ever. You just don't debate it in a Science classroom for terribly obvious reasons. How many frikkn times does the Supreme Court have to take this up again... |

Obama may lack 'executive experience', but at least he's obviously a bright guy and has laid out plans for when he takes office. |

20 years ago, anyone with those connections would have been laughed off the stage, early on in the primary and had no chance at a major party nomination. |

so, i'm still undecided--had he not chosen palin i probably wouldn't be, i admit that. i just think mccain is more centered than obama, and that appeals to me. as you say, the vp doesn't matter usually. and many of these issues we keep bringing up, the president actually has nothing to do with. it's the school boards who decide curriculum. yeah, palin is right wing, but she can't legislate we all learn creationism in science class. as for the supreme court, i don't see a republican getting an ultra right judge in there, he/she won't get approved by congress. it didn't seem to work well for us with a rep president and a rep congress. would dems in charge of both work any better? i always thought one of each worked better. still time tho to decide. |
