I'm sure I will watch the rest of the season, only because of the subject matter - but to get yourself all twisted up over this "cuz it has horseys in it" is really silly. It is not very good.

Shameless + House of Lies + Californication :tro:

Luck -on demand. I watched all episodes from start to latest in one day. I like it....albeit I am sometimes expecting Dustin to say "two hundred forty seven two hundred forty seven" aka Rain Man.

FTFY Geeker - though I'm not the biggest House of Lies fan, it's ok, but find myself switching back to HBO to get mah Kenny Powers fix and then not even watching HoL on DVR.

Shameless is the bomb :tro::tro:

Any chance you will be at Del Mar during the first weekend of August?

I don't know what others think, but last night's episode of Luck, was, in my opinion, far and away the best of the series, and really catapulted the show into the full HBO standard quality we've come to expect. I was fine with it before, enjoyed it, great racing scenes, etc - but last night was the best, and should really hook viewers that might have been loose on the tether.

It was an o.k. episode. Predictable, yet o.k.

Now we have a show that is the Sopranos at the race track. Yawn. This is what happens when you are more concerned with style over substance. A big shiny production.

I'm worried about the young kid that got clunked in the head.

See on twitter that Jonn Ortiz (Escalante) -- who's hanging at Santa Anita now even when they aren't filming -- just bought in on a horse this morning.

I will be, would love to meet some more folks from DT.

As a reminder Honu, when is your speaking part coming up in the series? I'm a big fan of the series but that's allready been established. It was cool to see Bob Baffert at the track too in a prior episode.

I just searched this thread and Honu said she was in episode 7. About where in episode 7 ? My guess : on the track attending to the filly that was pulled up.

We saw him at clockers corner last week.....hanging with Gary Stevens.

i tend to shy away from the race scenes until i know nothing or something happened. it's a good time to make a cocktail when they are racing.

but otherwise my wife and i love the show. i really like the stutterer and stevens.

Luck

I knew Israel was a goner as soon as he appeared on the scene; figured that Ace's man (Farina) would be offing him, though. They're gonna make fish food out of Israel, I think.

The Escalante character (Ortiz) is far and away the guts of this show; what a job that guy does. There are about a dozen or more Hispanic horsemen that I know in the Ocala area that are LESS believable than him in that part!
He's got the language down exactly right; looks like he's gonna turn out to be an "all right" guy after all, after being portrayed as a greedy slimeball in the first episode.

My Steve Crist look-a-like who famously pronounced Dale Earnhardt dead to the world isn't gaining any board traction ... but I'm fully commited to spamming his pic everytime our great sport loses something or someone.

Steve Crist can be heard at 21 seconds in.

Maybe more Dale Romans than Crist.

Absolutely correct sir. Hoffman--in this show--can't carry his jock strap.
