Wasn't sure where else to put this....

Prix Marcel Boussac result:

1st 2 Zarkava (IRE) 6-1
2nd 1 Conference Call 9-2
3rd 9 Mad About You (IRE) 11-2

A fantastic performance from the winner, she looks the real deal. She had plenty of ground to make up and got in all sorts of trouble under Soumillion, but once she saw daylight she flew home.

She jumped the shadow on the winning post after crossing the line, and we all know another great racehorse that did that!

Laureldean Gale finished almost last. Looks like the guy from Chapple Hyam's was right.

Rio De La Plata provides the boys in blue with some consolation. He won almost as he liked just now.

He was 8/13 but could only win as he did.

Does make New Approach look even better though :p

Could you ask Godolphin how much they want for Jalil. I have £2.50 in my wallet at the moment. Will that be enough? :p

No but that might be enough to get you The Green Monkey.

I think i could get both for that amount..... and get change!

They are both useless. I'd like to see a race between them. They would start on a saturday, and finish on Monday.

Seriously though, over the last few weeks, my friend has been riding Jalil and the only words he has come up with are "pig" and "useless".

If he goes into R5 @ Lingfield on the 12th, Mofarij will kick his butt.

(Okay so the Jarvis boy could win but still.....) :D

As an aside, Dijeerr is entered on Sunday. Hmmm.....

NoChanceToDance 10-10-2007 11:50 AM

Didn't know where else to put this........

I'm not a fan of Godolphin or Darley (as is obvious) but their marketing is amazing. Simple, but brilliant.

Not sure if you have seen the new adverts and caps for Manduro?

"SuperMAN!
Manduro, he's the best in the world"

Darn tootin'! :D

NoChanceToDance 10-11-2007 05:13 PM

Will Jalil improve for being switched to Poly for the first time? There is a possibility given his pedigree.

Will be watching this race tomorrow with interest.

NoChanceToDance 10-12-2007 10:43 AM

Jalil only second........ not a great hanicap. I think we can safely say he's only moderate at best.

They bought a Mr Greeley last year for about 5 million, who i have been informed is also tripe.

Both coolmore and Godolphin will be treading carefully in future i imagine...... no HUGE buys from now on, i doubt.

I have you sussed now. You're Horse Racing's equivalent to Radio Moscow in the Soviet era.

Jalil's 2nd. Some other horse is tripe. Not one word that Godolphin had 4 winners today before the Jalil race. You presumably don't want the Americans on here to know that.

saratogabrit 10-12-2007 11:38 AM

Sorry I've quickly read threw this nonsense-must have missed it's start whilst I was in Saratoga.

Radio Moscow was well at work with his pronouncements trying to con the Americans into believing that he was the fountain of knowledge on all things Godolphin.

Loved the bit about Simon Crisford. Got a job at a stud farm and then he was a racing journalist.

Doesn't mention that he was an Assisant trainer to Sir Mark Prescott for 2 years-that's possibly the toughest assistantship that anyone can have as Prescott runs a military operation.

Crisford moved onto be the gallops correspondent for the Racing Post because he couldn't afford to buy a stable. Prescott's other assistant Adrian Lee moved to Michael Jarvis and then bought a stable which nearly bankrupted him. Even back in 1987-8 when Adrian set up we were talking well over £200,000 (probably around $350,000 then) just to buy the stable.

NoChanceToDance 10-12-2007 12:30 PM

Well...... i'm sorrrry, but when you have been best friends with someone who has worked for Godolphin for many years now who will tell you exactly how useless Simon Crisford is. I've heard all the stories. He tries to train the horses and has no idea.

Neil Graham who was doing a good job there. He suggested something to Crisford, the next morning Crisford was on the phone to Graham and was told he had to go. Resignation letter through his door the next day for him to sign.

Did they have four winners? I know of three, but didn't realise they had four. I backed all three of them. The 2yo winner at Lingfield is very good and god knows how it was allowed to go off at 10/1.

Crisford couldn't afford a stable? pull the other one. He comes form a very wealthy family.... another reason how he managed to get in at Prescott's. You also didn't mention the fact he worked at Lavington, along with someone i used to work with. Crisford was scared of the horses there and was given all the good jobs..... surprise surprise.

I spoke only about Jalil because i had mentioned he was running in a previous post about him running on the all weather and thought he could do better on that surface, but obviously not. The Mr greeley, well, i was having a drink with my friend up at Tatts today and he was telling me just how bad it was.

I'm not a fan how the operation is run. You can think what you like about Crisford, but if you ask any employee at Godolphin, they will all give you the same answer, which would be "he's a joke". The staff are only there because of the money. As soon as my friend finishes his stock broker exams, he is out of there.
