Good idea.

SundayStar 12-24-2011 02:41 PM

i have to go with buena vista. but i really wouldn't be surprised if orfevre wins. he looks like a beast in the making.

who are you picking miss storm cat?

my miss storm cat 12-24-2011 04:33 PM

It's impossible, isn't it?

I guess all I can do is pick Buena Vista for the win since it's her last race and I'm sentimental. I know how good Orfevre is though and no question have to use him in the 2nd spot cause it really is between those two.

This is where I get mixed up. I know Victorie Pisa is 4 for 4 at Nakayama but well actually I just deleted what I wrote cause obviously both of us are fans of SO many of these horses (how many G1 winners in thie field? Almost all of them!).

One of the few I have not yet had any attachment to is Earnestly and I've gotta say, he looks really good right now so if I were playing (and I think I'll sit it out cause it's Christmas Eve and all).. if i were though I'd use him in the 3rd spot (maybe Tosen Jordan too) and fret over half the field to fill out the super.

A fan of waaaay too many. It's ridiculous!

Good luck to you, my friend, and may they all come home safe... and happy retirement to Buena Vista!

Lest I forget, Pelusa is out...

http://japanracing.jp/_news2011/111224.html

edit -

I'm a degenerate... I played a tri and a super and will leave it at that. Basically what I had said only I added in the horses I really like underneath (Rose Kingdom, Rulership, To the Glory, Jaguar Mail and 2 others that i can't think of right now!).

for sure :)

and i agree it should be between the top two but if there is a spoiler i think it will be tosen jordan.

my miss storm cat 12-25-2011 11:54 AM

Well good for him.

Another superstar...

Still haven't even watched the replay but it's here along with full results for anyone else who missed it.

It's been fun watching her career though, hasn't it?

Aaah well.

http://japanracing.jp/en/index.html

Merry Christmas!

SundayStar 12-25-2011 07:55 PM

the torch is passed. golden boy takes it. you could see at the top of the stretch he was going to win. very bright future ahead of him. i hope he stays healthy and continues to progress.... he will be fun to follow.

buena vista ran like she was over the top. eager early and flat late. plus i really don't think she likes the inside. it's been a spotty year for her but getting the japan cup made it all worth it. she had a fantastic career - have a great retirement girl!

p.s. Merry Christmas to you too!

PPs, February Stakes (Espoir City, Transcend, Yaminan Kingly, Silk Fortune, Grand Prix Boss et al)...

http://japanracing.jp/_news2012/pdf/120208.pdf

Sunday Star (or anyone!) is Smile Jack gonna go?

Do you love the name Tosho Freak as much as I do? :D (I wonder if She Is Tosho has had any runners yet). :)

my miss storm cat 02-18-2012 11:38 AM

Anyone playing tonight?

Definitely using Wonder Acute with Transcend... possibly Silk Fortune, Danon Come On or Yamanin Kingly who I'd assume will be at massive odds. (I like Grand Prix Boss and Smile Jack but am not seeing either one here)...

Barrier draw...

http://japanracing.jp/_news2012/120217.html

my miss storm cat 02-19-2012 11:15 AM

I've about finished hitting my head against the wall now.

If for some reason the winner had been taken down... oh well never mind.

I believe Yamanin Kingly was pulled up right after... no word since though.

For anyone who likes surprises... :D :wf

did you see Orfevre in his 2012 debut? bizarre and remarkable

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRh2DaAei5k

my miss storm cat 03-22-2012 03:14 PM

Yeah it was very strange! I still say he wins the Arc this year (that was my prediction on the predictions thread). :)

Who do you like in theTakamatsunomiya Kinen? Does it just belong to Curren Chan?

The barrier draw is... tomorrow?

what do you think about agnes wish?

my miss storm cat 03-23-2012 03:05 PM

I didn't consider that one at all until I just now went to look... not sure. I mean I might use him underneath... will be at nice odds and hey if he (he or she?) can beat the big guns that would be cool.

Curren Chan is sooo good, it would be nice to see Dasher Go Go get a big win, I know Lord Kanaloa will be one of the favorites and rightly so... I know he can't do it here but I will definately use (and root for) Jo Cappuccino.

The one I'm not sure what to do about is Majin Prosper.

If I play a super I'll use Tokai Mystery in the 4th spot even though that would be nearly impossible for her. (Her odds will be massive though so why not?).

Of the top of my head right this second I'm thinking...

Curren Chan / Grand Prix Angel, Dasher Go Go, Lord Kanaloa and then add your guy in the third spot.

Saver on my old man Jo.

This will change a thousand times though. :D

You?

my miss storm cat 03-25-2012 12:05 PM

How did you do?

She is just so good, isn't she?

I put in my plays and had to leave and of course didn't have San Carlo anywhere. :D :wf

Full results, replay, pic of Curren Chan here of course (I know you know, I meant for anyone else who wants to see her!).

http://japanracing.jp/en/index.html

SundayStar 03-27-2012 01:03 PM

nice race by curren chan. and a great close by san carlo.

SundayStar 04-16-2012 09:42 AM

nice win by gold ship. kudos to the jock for giving him the perfect trip. world ace on the other hand was almost taken into the grandstands on the turn. i'm sure the jock felt he was the best horse but c'mon man - that was ridiculous. the next one should be very interesting.

beat black was stalking the pacesetter and apparently they weren't going very fast. most of the rest of the pack was many lengths behind them. orfevre was traveling 3rd to last most of the way. and when they turned home there really wasn't much gaining of ground by anyone which leads me to believe the pace was slow. still, orfevre's connections can't be too happy. he should've demolished this field.

my miss storm cat 04-29-2012 06:37 PM

I've watched it three times....just still so very surprised.

What do you suppose they'll do now?

Is the Arc still on?

Disappointed in quite a few runners in this one.

SundayStar 04-29-2012 07:29 PM

yeah, it was a weird race.

i'm not sure what the next step in the plan was for orfevre. how many races were planned between now and the arc? i honestly don't know. we'll have to watch and see what they do. hopefully he will bounce back strong.

my miss storm cat 05-04-2012 10:24 PM

Who do you like in the Mile?

Not playing but hoping Sacred Reve wins. :)

Coach Pants 05-05-2012 11:12 PM

Well I would tell you but Xpressbet's wagerpad is fubar.

Only seeing 1-8

Coach Pants 05-06-2012 12:23 AM

Race 9 - Hiyoshi Tokubetsu

10 wps 14 Sutekina Shaco

my miss storm cat 05-06-2012 12:32 AM

Just pretend I fell and landed on my head or something cause not sure if I understand what you're saying Coachie. :D

(Oh I meant the 1-8 thing)

I'm putting in my play and leaving it at that.

Probably nuts but I like Shigeru Sudachi to hit the board somewhere so will use him underneath Sacred Reve and Curren Black Hill.

Curren Black Hill, Sacred Reve and Hana's Gold boxed and then used with with Shigeru Sudachi, Just a Way and Clarente in the 4th spot? Something like that.

I don't see Alfredo or Mount Shasta hitting the board and I'd assume they be 2nd and 3rd favorites (?).

Good luck!

my miss storm cat 05-06-2012 12:46 AM

I'm gonna put in my silly plays and just let it be and will check in the morning.

You Sir? You keep going and win every damned race.Do you understand?

Good!

Yea for racing! :D :$: I hope you had a really good day. Mine was pretty good. :)

Coach Pants 05-06-2012 12:58 AM

I had a great day. Was up early, gave it all back by 3, was down big at 4, got bailed out by the teller giving me the wrong horse and had the exacta for $5 in the 10th.

Hope you did well and good luck tonight.

Hope you did this well in the 11th too!

Awesome about the teller. :D

I guess Shigeru Sudachi fell or was brought down from what I've heard but really... not sure, no need to see the replay.

Curren Black Hill
Alfredo
Clarente

Since I didn't use Alfredo I had nada.

Hope SS is okay.

On to HK!

my miss storm cat 05-12-2012 06:16 PM

Love Apapane but she hasn't won in a year... just not sure. Grand Prix Angel is still in training and wasn't supposed to be so that's encouraging...

Love Whale Capture and some day she'll get her G1 win. Runs her heart out.

I think I'll use Marcellina on top with Whale Capture and Queens Barn in the 2nd spot with Animate Bio and a few others filling out the tri / super. Maybe toss in one of the girls with uber big odds... Kyowa Jeanne or A Shin Harbor (so pretty! :D).

I should probably just learn my lesson form last night and box Marcellina, Whale Capture and Queens Barn. :wf

my miss storm cat 05-13-2012 02:06 AM

I missed the race by about two minutes but had put in my plays before I left and thankfully was sentimental.

Thank you, Whale Capture and hooray for getting a G1!

Didn't use the girl who finished 2nd so there went that but still....

Well, no point in saying any more. Happy though. :)

Okay well I'm sticking with the first two on top with Tosen Homareboshi, and Historical with Deep Brillante, Just a Way and Monstre at the bottom of a tri and a super.

Speilberg and Alfredo will take a lot of money (I think) and I'm pretty much staying away from both.

Trip (very pretty :D) is another I'll leave off my tickets.

Brightline is one I'm back and forth on so should probably use him somewhere but as far as the winner it's between Gold Ship and World Ace.

Good luck if you're playing tonight.
