Wasn't sure if I should put this here or on the HK thread...

You guys... no one told me he was running! Don't you all know to keep an eye on him for me??? :D

Looks like (swoon! :{>: :D ) Bulldozer (people who were around a couple of years ago and who follow HK know exactly who I'm talking about!) is happy again!

Hope he's behaving himself.

5 races in the last 6 weeks with his new trainer.... a 2nd, a 3rd and this!

Fillies withdrawn from Lightning Stakes
Brad Waters
Saturday, 30 January 2010
The Group I Lightning Stakes field is down to 11 runners after the race-morning scratching of two three-year-old fillies from the Flemington feature.
Breeding giant Coolmore’s purchase of exciting colt Starspangledbanner on Friday has resulted in the scratching of Thousand Guineas winner Irish Lights from the David Hayes stable.
“There is nothing wrong with the filly,” Hayes’ assistant trainer Gary Fennessy said. “The owners just didn’t want her to run because they bought the other colt.
“David (Hayes) will assess where she will have her first-up run early next week. It’s a little disappointing but we still have another strong chance in the race.”

Hayes would be cranky as all gelati..He had been talking up IL's chance of winning this race.
I guess it all comes down to down to $....a dual G1 colt is far more valuable than a dual G1 filly.

Good luck to the previous owners..at $10m..they have had a huge ride and made some big $..see breeder Tony Santic was one of the owners. The mare was served by Redoute's back in September...will be worth a few shillings!

Shocking out of Australian Cup 12 Mar 2010

By Rob Burnet

The Group One Darley Australian Cup (2000m) markets were thrown into disarray once again with the news late on Friday afternoon that the 2009 Emirates Melbourne Cup winner Shocking will not take his place in Saturday’s field at Flemington.

The Mark Kavanagh trained four-year-old Street Cry entire has had a recurrence of the hoof abscess that appeared last week, meaning that the horse was unable to take his place in the race which was subsequently postponed due to the severe storm that passed over Flemington.
With the Australian Cup and the Crown Guineas rescheduled for this Saturday at Flemington on Blamey Stakes Day the stable re-nominated Shocking for the field on Tuesday, however on Friday morning the hoof abscess problem flared again.
Kavanagh advised Racing Victoria Ltd stewards of the problem and that Shocking will be scratched from the field.
Kavanagh advised in a statement that Shocking will most likely be spelled and then be prepared for a spring campaign.
Shocking has run twice since his Melbourne Cup win last spring, being unplaced in both the CF Orr Stakes and St George Stakes over unsuitable distances.
The revised TAB Sportsbet market as follows:

80155 HEART OF DREAMS 5.50
80153 ZIPPING 6.00
80164 MISS MAREN 8.00
80154 SIRMIONE 8.00
80158 BARBARICUS 9.50
80166 EXTRA ZERO 12.00
80156 LITTORIO 14.00

80165 DIVINE REBEL 35.00
80160 MOATIZE 35.00

Rooting for Zipping but Zarita for the win at nice odds!
