NoChanceToDance 10-25-2009 07:02 PM

After last weekend's diasterous punting I more than made up for it at the Valley at the weekend, and it could have been so much better!

Started badly in the 2yo race (here we go again)
Not much luck for the first few (forgot about Ringrangdoo and by the time I fought through the crowds it was too late!)
Took the decision that Apache had everything in his favour, a strong pace likely, back to 1200m and back at the Valley....... $200 at $3.50. He probably was slightly fortunate, as a couple of horses could have easily held their ground or took up the rail run before he nosed through.

Irazu was a horse i'd been tipped a long time ago for this and I knew he'd be a big price. $50 ew at $26 for the win and $6.50 for the place. Another few strides he would have won. Watch for him at Flemington if he gets a run!

Roll on Cox Plate....... didn't like Whobegotyou at all here, older horses all had 59kgs, so I sided against those. All that was left were the 3yo's. I didn't like Manhattan Rain, so It was left for a small ew bet on Bart. $20 ew So You Think at $13.

Then it got annoying again. As I sat there, they were coming out onto the track for the last. I said I'd pick a horse without bothering to walk a fair distance to have a bet. "lady lynette" I said. Bloody thing won paying $7....... gutted.

Brilliant day though and couldn't have asked for better weather

im having a pre melbourne cup dabble at flemington tomorrow
Six O'Clock News Race 2
Cima de Triomphe (one last chance) Race 5
Neroli Race 7
Bryannbo's Gift race 9

and am I the only one on the Crime Scene bandwagon on Tuesday?? Hop on!

NoChanceToDance 10-30-2009 07:26 PM

Great day at Flemington today, unfortunately I can't be there (but nothing is stopping me from going on Tuesday!)

I'm also giving Cima De Triomphe once last chance today.

The Comedian in the first will be very hard to beat.

Run For Naara is (as far as I'm concerned) the best filly in the country right now.

Derby looks like a bit of a puzzle, but if they go really hard, Extra Zero could surprise when coming home hard and fast.

I was with the guy who bred Zarita yesterday and he seemed pretty keen on her chances.

Irazu will be another big bet for me, he's in great form at home.

Shamoline has been scratched.

The Comedian was dreadful, all the guys from Tyreel came down today as well. They were expecting a big show. A whole host of good judges own him, including a vet from back home in Newmarket and Demi O'Bryne himself

Scurlogue Champ 10-30-2009 09:13 PM

The Comedian owes me after that terrible performance.

Shocking looked good in the Lexus, I think Run For Naara might romp in the Wakeful coming up next.

Backing the Dubawi first timer at Rosehill in the opener.

magic_idol 10-30-2009 09:27 PM

Yeah wow & efficient outta the cup !!! not surprised if you fail a vets cert it's hard for them to come back ...
Swap Sham with ONEMORENOMORE hasnt shown much since but gees the conditions havnt had a helping hand,
light Vision although i Love him he's sacked can't afford to back him nomore:rolleyes:
What was with em all taking off @ the 700? flemington is a long straight !!!

I thought the same about Run For Naara.... how wrong we were. That 1,000 guineas form is looking good now.

What is with pom trainers for f#ck sake do they think if they lead from the front they will break the spirit of the other horses ,Here some advise & ill even give it to these obviously ignorant pom trainers for free !!!!
NOT IN A GROUP 1 !!!! it's suicide !!!!!  ,Sorry phil im not saying all pom trainers are bad it's just the tactics they adopt when they come to australia:confused:

Put the bank on Viewed for the melbourne cup Cruizin & still ran 3rd :$: :$: :$: :$:

NoChanceToDance 10-31-2009 12:13 AM

I completely agree mate. He was never going to be competitive from the front. He (Cime De Triomphe) just hasn't acted here forwhatever reason. Very disappointing.

No more bets today I don't think, well only Morgan Dollar at Morphettville. Should be a steering job now dropped in grade.

Need to catch up on last night (finally!).

Is Zipping okay? Wow I'm glad I wasn't watching.

Thrilled for Monaco Consul! There will never be another Xcellent but very happy and hope he contines to shine for his connectins (waving NZ flag too). :)

VERY upset about Efficient and Zipping! Ugh.

Where is Mourilyan????? Have always been a fan, thought he drew barrier 14. Am I crazy? A nice horse who wins when he damned well feels like it! (No, really).

My special good luck list... :D

C'est la Guerre (no I'll never learn), Gallions Reach:eek: (I know, I know). (edit - am just wishing them luck, not my picks!)

If Mourilyan is out? Daffodil with Warringah and Newport underneath. ***

*** subject to change :wf

(Anyone care to explain the Freedman / scum comments for those of us who wanna know? Thanks!)

Moodwalker can tell you his side as he worked for them I can only say from the trainers side they kinda have now how do you say it dont give a sh#t about there fellow people, ,
If you Train a good horse the freedmans will go straight to the owner behind the trainers back & either (a) buy it from out of you or (b) offer the owners such a great deal to make sure the freedmans train that horse ,they have no scruples to make sure they get the best deal possible Lee almost owns racing victoria were he can train & even trial his horses on his own property the stewards come to him the other brother tried to control NSW by becomming head of the board & then taxing the trainers so high as to make it impossible for them to train @ the training tracks there was a huge revolt in NSW & they got rid of him now 1 is oversea's
Singapore i think & they will take what ever horses they want ove there as far as the freedmans are concerned they want to Own racing & it has only been the emergance of dare i say it big players like Darley & patnick with the backing of the studs eg Lee cant get his hands on the good horses that has seen him fall on his arse & not control everything good days indeed :D ,Other than that on a personal note ive known a few crooked trainers who will lets say touch up or buzz ( give the horse a electric shock up the straight )a horse before a race & rob syndicates
blind & wouldnt you know it these trainers now work as foremen
for lee freedman.:zz:

I'm not a pedigree person but apparently she's closely related to Might and Power. If she has even the smallest fraction of his talent.....:)

As an aside...

(I love any excuse to post this link and when they update it and have Bullish Luck pictures in the gallery? God I'll be like one of those annoying old ladies with the billion pictures of the grandkids, boring everyone to death...) :D
