Thanks Phil. Wake, Florida and Minnesota being seeded ahead of UTEP and Utah State is a joke, but I agree, otherwise they did a very good job, as they usually do.

Maybe you can explain this, but I never understood why the #1 overall seed never plays the winner of the play-in game. Theoretically, wouldn't the winner of that game still be the worst team in the tournament?

Nice lipstick on Clark Kellogg tonight...yikes!

The Play-in game winner has to play a Friday/Sunday pod. Just so happened the last few years, and this year too, that the #1 overall ended up in a Thursday/Saturday pod. Kansas was a lock for Oklahoma City...

The one thing I did really well this year was place the protected seeds. Had 10 of the 16 in the right pods (and the committee did a really good job of placing them geographically.)

Final results:
64/65 teams
24 exact seeds
56/65 within 1 seed

In my honest opinion- Cal and ND were WAY overseeded, and UNI, Tennessee, and SDSU were way underseeded. Thoughts?

Boys...I am in awe. Well done.

Am I right in fading the ACC ?

None of them will make the sweet 16

I wouldn't have said so before the ACC tourney, but now I say yeah.

Nice work. You had the harder job of seeding everyone, I just picked the ins and outs (better than Lunardi, ahem).

I agree on all counts, except maybe SDSU. As for Notre Dame, the committee traditionally gives a ton of weight to Big East tourney runs for some reason (remember in '06 when Syracuse came into MSG out of the tourney, ran the table and ended up with a 5-seed). Georgetown is a little overseeded as a 3 as well IMO. I actually like Cal to beat Louisville, but they didn't deserve an 8.

Play your Big XII teams early and often. They are going to do serious damage in here.

I second this.

Check back in the thread slodirt. Ateam was on them about a month ago.

Oh, my bad, I forgot that because someone else has an opinion, I can't have the same one. Sorry, ateam!

ateamstupid 03-15-2010 04:18 PM

Racers are only 3-point dogs against Vanderbilt, so it's probably not just us two with that opinion. ;)

Cannon Shell 03-15-2010 04:45 PM

Montana +9 seems like a play as does Ok St -1.5

I didnt mean it the way you took it so I apologize if I came off the wrong way.

As for games, Wofford plus the 9. What do you think boys?

It sucks. I would've preferred any of the other 4 seeds and even one of the 3's (Pitt) to Wisconsin, which is a very, very tough matchup. Wofford plays good defense, but they rely on causing turnovers and Wisconsin is 3rd in the country in turnover rate. Wisconsin also has the bigs in Nankivil and Leuer to shut down Dahlman. The good news is that on offense, Wisconsin relies heavily on three-pointers and Wofford defends the three well so covering the 9 is within reach. Diggs and Rundles and Dahlman have to get to the line often, because Wofford isn't going to get many second chances. Unfortunately it's tough for me to see them pulling the upset, as much as I wanted to pick them.

The expert from ESPN just said KY has no chance to get to the Final Four....And with that, KY just got to the Final Four.

philcski 03-15-2010 06:11 PM

Games I circled last night after LVSC put out their numbers:
New Mexico St +12.5 -> +13.5 now
BYU -2.5 -> already up to -4
Missouri -1.5
Wofford +9.5
Louisville +1 -> now -1
ODU +4 -> now +2
Richmond -1
Marquette PK -> now -2

Agreed- and Bo Ryan just does not lose in the first round. But that being said... I think they cover.

Coach Pants 03-15-2010 06:21 PM

Yeah the experts on CBS and ESPN said Kentucky has a tough road. I don't see it.
