what's depressing is the reaction of the right. mitt romney called the president's effort an apology trip which is then vomited all over the internet, including here. rush says he sided with al-qaida. and the dumbest guy in the senate, jim inhofe calls the president un-american.

republicans want to pretend they're tough. but what really comes through is fear. they're scared of dialogue and scared of empathy. they're scared of complexity and ambiguity.

and they're particularly scared of an america that elected a black guy and isn't as easily rattled as they are.

I'm scared of circus clowns.

Sarah Palin gave an introduction last week (?) to Micheal Reagan speaking at a GOP function - and seriously, reading the transcript, there are whole paragraphs that I can't tell what she's trying to say.

i was actually taking a cheap "bush is an inarticulate dyslectic ******" shot with that sentence. those never get old for me.

but watching sarah try to cram for her 2012 presidential exam after 45 years of dumb is also train wreck awesome.

It's the same thing, to begin with. The internet means that non-Americans can see him "admitting our faults" to Americans....does it instantly turn into criticism when a non-American is viewing it or hearing it? The logic just doesn't make sense.

I would be offended if he said that to us. Admitting your faults and calling your country arrogant are two different things.

Admitting the deficit is a problem is okay... then going and making it 4 times larger is the Obama way.

miraja2 06-09-2009 01:06 PM

Well, I guess there is at least one thing that I like better about the Bush presidency than the Obama presidency: http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/200...politico/23510

trying to show he isn't a godless heathen. but i don't listen to his speeches, so it won't bother me. now, if he starts invading countries at gods command, then i'll start worrying.

FlBred 06-09-2009 02:16 PM

Sounds to me like ALOT of people have hard feelings because the guy isnt part of the party they voted for or even more shameful possibly because he is not from their ethical or racial background!!! That is the sad and ignorant part of this country. We as a country are just a little more subtle about it.

And what is wrong with acknowledging the mistakes this country has made.....we are by no means perfect contrary to what prior administrations the past 8 years have tried to convey to the world!!!!!

Oh if he did that you'd say something like "he listens to a different God than Bush did" and to be correct that came up because a reporter asked Jr. if he had consulted his father regarding the Iraq war and he said there is a higher power than Sr not that God told him to invade.

Meanwhile Obama is once again on both sides of yet another issue this time being religion. He's going to have to dig deep in his roots to find a Jewish ancestor before he visits Isreal. Or maybe he'll take the duct tape off Rahm's mouth and drag him along.

Aw, c'mon, Bush gets a pass now, he's out of office :wf

Sarah's good for another four years of comedy gold in the late night TV wars.

I really can't figure out what the hell is happening in her brain - she opens her mouth and strings of unending and apparently unassociated words just fall out ... it's seriously weird. The Katie Couric interview was not a fluke.

Just turn the sound down and the closed caption feature on

"Reagan knew that real change and real change requiring shaking things up and maybe takin' off the entrenched interest thwarting the will of the people with their ignoring of our concerns about future peril caused by selfish short-sighted advocacy for growing government and digging more debt and taking away individual and state's rights and hampering opportunity to responsibly develop our resources and coddling those who would seek to harm America and her allies." - Sarah Palin, June 2009

Speaking of comedy gold, was in the mood for some on the drive home yesterday so, of course, I tuned in the high-pitch Hannity radio program. And high-pitch certainly didn't disappoint as he let loose with this whopper during another one of his tired, predictable anti-BO diatribes ... 'the stock market has been stuck for a while now.'

LMAO

Over the last three months the S&P 500 index is up no less than 34%

The only thing that appears to be "stuck" is the blood that's supposed to be flowing to high-pitch's brain...

Jon Stewart the other night showed Hannity saying Obama "gave a voice to those that supported the 9/11 attacks", followed by a sound clip.

Only problem was that Hannity cut off the sound clip mid-sentence. The rest of the sound bite showed Obama clearly saying the opposite, that those that supported the 9/11 attacks were wrong.

Pretty funny.

Edit: Well, pretty sick, considering the people that think Hannity is truth and reality.

That part wasn't really that funny. The rest of that episode was some of his best stuff. He ripped apart the bias of FoxNews, he ripped apart the bias of MSNBC, and then he ripped apart the patheticness of CNN. Some of his best stuff in years. Regardless of your politics, check out the first half of Monday's episode on-line. It was some good old slam everyone action.
