I'm sick of getting my hopes up just to get my heart broken. like i said, 4 losses in the NFC championship game is nothing to be proud of.

A healthy Westbrook would have helped as well, but too big of a first half hole to dig out of. When AZ can run the ball, bad things are going to happen.

I really don't think you can blame McNabb for this one. If I told all the Eagles fans that the iggs would score 25 before the game, most of you would have been booking air fare for Tampa. You hear alot about that Eagles defense (it's jusified they are a very good group), but they needed to make one more stand. They needed one guy to make a play and they couldn't get it done. To his credit Mcnabb looked like he was going to drive them right back. I still think Jackson short armed the 3rd down pass and Curtis should have had that ball on 4th down (I know there was some contact, but he still has to make that play). But bottom line is that the defense lost that game for the birds yesterday.

But, it could be worst if you were a Bills fan.....:D

Agreed. To add, if I told eagle fans that Mcnabb was going to throw for 375 with 3 tds and 1 pick (really none) they would already be in tampa.

The defense allowed 32 points and a good portion of that was scored on sustained drives. Warner was 21-28 for 279 yds and 4 TDS. Edgerrin James gained 4.6 yds per carry. Most importantly? The Eagle defense DIDNT CREATE A SINGLE TURNOVER. They had two sacks after spending the entire afternoon blitzing.

That team thrived all season on turnovers and sacks. The only way you can fault the offense is that they couldnnt reinvent themselves into the 2007 patriots after the game started.

and I'm really getting sick of this no talent around him BULLSHIT. sure he may have not always had the best WR's (eventhough this years WR's are pretty good), but find another team out there besides the Pats who have had a better Defense, O-line, and runningback (Westbrook) in the last 10 years. the no talent **** is ****ing crazy and rediculous. So they had a terrific Defense, & great offense save some WR's yet poor McNabb has no talent and did all this **** himself  Dala you have no idea what you are talking about.

You speak of this incredible defense and i agree they have been really good...except in the title games theyve lost. Against Tampa, at home, they gave up 27 points. Against The Rams, they gave up 29. Against Zona they give up 32. the only game he played poorly in was the Carolina game and he played the game with broken ribs suffered in the first quarter.

The line "they had a great defense and great offense save some receivers" is kind of like saying an omelette chef has great cheese and great bacon but shitty eggs.

You tell me a QB (besides maybe Tom Brady) who has accomplished nearly as much with as bad a supporting cast of receivers. You think this year's wide receivers are "pretty good"? Are you joking? THE EAGLES LEAD THE LEAGUE IN DROPPED PASSES.

These darn facts...

If I were to buy a franchise today and you told me that i was going to go to the superbowl 4 straight and not win, I would have the money wired before the ink on the contract dried.

If someone then told me years later that if i hired a certain coach and QB, that they would go on to 5 conference championships in 10 years and 1 superbowl appearance, I would ask how much money each of those guys wanted to be paid and probably add another 10% to keep them happy.

Antitrust32 01-19-2009 10:20 AM

thats the difference between us.

you see 5 NFC Conference games with 4 losses as an accomplishment, I see it as a failure.

the only thing that ****ing matters in the league is getting a ring. that is all.

you're ****ing crazy if you dont think this years WR's are fine.... DeShaun Jackson (very good #2 guy, will develop into a good #1 WR), Kevin Curtis (also a very good #2 WR), Jason Avant (becoming a good WR eventhough he dropped one or two yesterday), Reggie Brown (not as good as should be but not bad for a 4th WR), Celeck is turning into a GREAT tight end, Hank Baskett (was going just fine till he started banging that chick from Girls next door) LJ Smith is a bust and I hate Greg Lewis.

How is that not a good group of WR's???? **** not every team can be the Cards or Pats and have Fitz/Bouldin & Moss/Welker.

If they were so good, how come they lead the league in dropped passes? I would think that a requisite to being considered a "good" receiver was actually catching the ball.

No?

if they were so bad, how come McNabb threw for more yards this year than he has in his career??

I dont want to make excuses for dropped passes, cause a WR's job is to make a catch.. but if you have ever watched McNabb the past 10 years (and I get the feeling you dont), he is like Brett Favre. Lots of those short passes are dropped because the ball is travelling at 698MPH speeds. an intelligent person like yourself  should have been able to know that.

Its been said many of times that balls thrown by McNabb and Favre are the hardest to catch.. It doesnt help when McNabb throws them at your feet either.

McNabb made a perfect sideline pass yesterday to Greg Lewis that was dropped... but Lewis sucks balls.

He threw for more yards this year because he had more attempts than he ever had with 571

whatever bitch, you win... McNabb is the greatest player ever to have lived and all the dogs that play on the team with him should be fired, cause McNabb is the only reason the Eagles have ever won a game.

Thats why McNabb has so many rings on his fingers and why the entire city of Philadelphia loves him, because hes the greatest evah!

I love you:{>:

I think the bottom line is what you said earlier. We view success differently. You think anything short of a title is a failure. i don't. I think what Philly has accomplished over the last ten years is the greatest span of success that franchise has ever enjoyed and the coach, QB and certain players should be lauded. I think the owner should be proud. I think the team is making a ton of money.

But I understand your thinking. Its just differrent than mine thats all.

I didnt mean to call you a bitch, :p you just piss me off. It must be love :{>: lol...

you have to think from a perspective of a Philadelphia sporty fan... we dont get many championships in this major sports city (thank GOD for the Phillies), we are SOOO STARVING for a Superbowl title that anything less than that is failure. (IMO and lots of other Eagles fans agree... Declan is actually a pretty level-headed birds fan, you dont find too many of them).

Even if McNabb had four losses in the NFC Championship game... but in that 5th one he won and THEN won the Superbowl, I'd love McNabb & Reid till I died and get McNabbs sexy face tatoo'd over my heart. I'm just waiting for something thats not going to happen.

I just think he lies somewhere in the middle of where you two are saying. Definitely not as good as Dala thinks and not as bad as Uncly thinks.

i do NOT blame McNabb for this loss, its all on the D.

I actually think McNabb is incredibly talented, and when he uses his legs and takes off running, he could be the best QB in the league. But his record in the big games speak for themself, and I am tired of getting my hopes up and my dreams shattered. :(

Fans don't give a damn how much money teams make. All they want is championships. It also doesn't help when all the other teams in your division(that you despise) have had success multiple times. They have been close for a while, they needed to close the deal this time. You might call it a successful season. I guess you can say that based on their playoff chances being on life support late in the season. But realistically (in my opinion, which means zilch) they are the better team, and were within 7 minutes of going to Tampa. They couldn't close the deal and get it done with that supposedly vaunted defense they have. That last 7 minutes turned an argueably successful season, into another bitter failure. And questions of what could of been.

I know what you are saying. My point was merely that the money they make is another sign that they are a successful franchise thats all.

My opinion of the eagles? They have groomed a couple of good young lineman to go along with another good young linebacker and they will add more pieces in the offseason. This team is primed to be very good again next year.

i agree. He runs the 2 min drill much better at the end of the first half than at the end of the game..

what i dont understand is how larry fitz can do what he does... can anybody in the league cover him without using 2/3 men?? he's unreal. Warner is also a cool customer in those big games... 4TD passes. nice game by Kurt, and he didnt give up any turnovers, which were part of the reason the Eagles crushed them in November...
