Mr. Jerkens couldn't have been too happy Friday with Chop-Chop in the 5th on BISHOP'S BACK. Chavez ran the 4yo up on heels early, had to check hard losing all momentum and perhaps 6-7 lengths, before clawing his way back into it to be third at the finish beaten about 4L.

6-7 lengths is an exageration but that was one of the funniest rides I've seen in a while.

Andy... How about it? Had to lose 4-5 lengths at least, no? WTF was Choppy doing?

All I come away with after watching that race is knowing that he probably wins with a perfect trip. Which tells me nothing; and the obvious trip will cut his odds next out.

And, the quality of the NYRA turf sprint replays continues to deteriorate. Why can't we see the direct headon on the backstretch?

I've only seen the race a few times. I'll watch again.

In case you haven't noticed.....Chavez is afraid of the rail.

He had no chance no matter what. Cutback horses have a HUGE EDGE on the turf. (Unless, they're running in CALI, where, the sprinters, stretching out, always seem to have an advantage over the routers cutting back.)
