Just saw on DRF.com that Sierra Sunset has a hairline fracture and is off the Derby trail. If Denis of Cork is not running in the Ark Derby, who's left? Now I really think the fillies (Eight Belles and Pure Clan) should be pointed in that direction...

Wouldn't be shocked to see an Arkansas bred in the race.

He was one of the few and maybe the only horse to link Southern California form to eastern form in 3 yo preps. I'd like to see some more socal contenders come east before the derby.

Im not sure if he was an Ark bred, but Olympic Chief was the name of the maiden in last year's rendition.

With the Blue Grass coming up tough, I would be surprised if one of the key contenders didn't change course and point to the Arkansas Derby.
You would think at least one west-coast based horse would travel to Oaklawn and get a dirt race under his belt prior to the derby, but that makes too much sense.
