Debuted today in the 9th at Belmont on the turf. Broke well and had some early run along the rail, but got shuffled way back behind the field. Was able to re-rally and closed very well to finish 4th, beaten about3-4 lengths. Will be a bet back for me...but sad to say I will not get the 22-1 I had on him today.

Anyone gets a chance...watch the replay.

I have a 3% stake in Sacred City and it looks like the trainer is looking at either a mile on the Turf at Belmont on 7/21 or a Mile 1/16th on the turf at Saratoga on the 25th.

By the chart, this was an impressive effort: only horse to gain (and significantly) the last split. (Another way to look at this is: he passed tired horses.) He was under steady whipping, however, and in a drive from the turn. 7F would probably be perfect for him

Entered in today's 10th race as #12 an AE, and is NOT an early Scratch. Does that mean he is running?

7-2 ML and Ponce up does not make for an attractive bet. May drift up as Dubliner will surely take the most action.

This is copied from the Horse Partners Website:

Sacred City (Belmont Park) - Belmont - October - N/A

09/28/2007 - Ran 4th. Coa stated "I had alot of trouble in the beginning and was bumped numerious times through out the race, and in the lane I had no where to run." Coa also stated "the distance and everything about him was perfect and next time we will get it done".

JUST AN FYI

Horse runs on 10/17 not 10/16 but i will bet this horse as he has outside post and can hopefully stay out of trouble.

Made his '08 debut yesterday at the Big A.

He did have excuses, I guess as he apparently was very nervous in the paddock before the race and washed out.

On top of that during the race he was was in a lot of trouble early on in the race having to check and or steady several times and as if that wasn't enough he lost a shoe during the race.

I'm definitely looking for a better performance next time out.

Maybe one of these days, this guy will put it together. I'm taking his running line comments with a grain of salt (haven't watch any replays personally), but if they are accurate and you are to believe them, he has certianly had some trouble trips. Here they are, after his debut:

4/28/08 1 1/16th turf - steadied repeatedly

12/1/07 1 mile 70 Inner Dirt - Had no rally ( I can toss this effort)

10/17/07 1 1/16th turf - chased 3 wide, tired

9/27/07 1 1/8th turf - roughed up start

9/13/07 1 1/16th turf - altered course stretch

8/19/07 1 1/16th turf - steadied along early

8/10/07 1 1/16th OFF turf - inside trip, no rally

Seems with a little better luck, he may pop at a big price.

Just rewatched his turf efforts. He surely has had some eventful races to say the least. Be interested to see what a clean trip might do for him.

I watched a few of them .... this horse has had really no trip to write home about.... I am not going to say perfect trip equals a winner.... but a little racing luck could make a difference.... I'll have a few bucks wagered at that price....

I've chased this horse at least 3 times on the turf. He will eventually win won of these races, but this one came up kind of tough. Woodrunner is a decent horse and has been very close against tougher down in Florida. I'll be pretty surprised if he doesn't win. If he doesn't fire I think Iron Gate and Rodeo Hand are next logical. I know, nothing clever, but I just don't think today is the day for Sacred City.

Hossy, our boy is in the 4th today for a $25k tag:tro:

His best race, by far, was his debut.
